His name is Pritom Hassan.....and #Deora is a song sung by boatsmen for rhythm and energy during Nouka Baich - a traditional boat race, popular in the northern parts of Bangladesh and held during the Monsoon and Autumn seasons. The banks of Bangladesh explode with festivities in this time and Deora celebrates those ‘Mela’ across ‘The Land of the Rivers’.
This song is usually sung during a game called Nawkabaich. It is basically a metaphorical song. You won't find the matter similar to the lyrics of the song, but there is a subtle meaning here. When a sailor gets tired of sailing, his wife brings him food and sings to him. The sailor regains his strength to steer the boat,dances and sings on the boat with this song.

We have a traditional boat racing in Bangladesh and one of the boat racers wrote this song to encourage and entertain his partners while racing. Then afterwards when a composer named Pritom heard this song he brought it to Coke Studio with such an excellent composition and sound structure.

The name of the main vocalist is Pritam Hasan. The first part of the song is his own writing. “Deora” is dedicated to the boatsmen’s rhythm and energy during ‘Nouka Baich’ or traditional boat race, popular in rural Bangladesh and held during the monsoon and autumn seasons. The title of the song refers to ‘brother-in-law’ in the regional dialect of north Bengal, and this type of song is performed during the boat races - cheering on the racers - from the banks of rivers. The biggest surprise in the song has been the superlative performance by Islam Uddin Palakar, renowned in the ‘Pala Gaan’ tradition of Bangla folk songs. “The rich heritage of this genre usually requires elaborative theatrical performances where the actor takes on multiple roles - sometimes a man, sometimes a woman, and sometimes an inanimate object - to present stories to their audience. These performances can take up to 8 hours without a break.” Pritom jointly penned the lyrics with Fazlu Majhi, a boat racer himself who also performed in the song with his team. The first Bangladeshi Grammy Award-nominated artist Armeen Musa and her ‘Ghaashphoring Choir’ added another dimension to the song.

it is in the indian subcontinent. anyway foreigners do mix bangladesh with india monstly because both have bangali people and india has more exposure in western wolrd than bangladesh
Call it South Asia instead 'indian subcontinent' because it's an inclusive term for all 8 sovereign states (including india itself). For example, we don't call east asia as 'chinese subcontinent' or western europe as 'french subcontinent' just because they happen to be the largest country in the area, right? The same logic applies here.

Indian subcontinent is so called because it was an isolated landmark that over the time drifted away and merged with eurasia. even still now we call it indian subcontinent or subcontinent to refer this region here in bangladesh.

Every big rivers of Bangladesh specially rainy season occurs boat race or regatta, race time boat man improvise their own lyrical song like this Deora song to revive enthusiastically their confidence level to win the race.Fazlu Majhi(the boatman)also main singer and lyricist has showed last part of this song Deora.
