Glad you're alight man, just some tips for anyone involved in a crash though: 1.) If you witness an accident on a group ride, first thing to do is scan the accident area and create a ' buffer ' between traffic and the injured person(s) eg; bike clearly visible in road with hazards to avoid more potential injury (cars coming around corner, etc), then proceed to call 911 and log the time of accident, this helps them keep track of everything, the faster they arrive, the better for everyone. If you have multiple people with you, divide the tasks up to act quicker. Taking pictures can also help if a third party vehicle was involved. 2.) Find the most quiet person on the scene, a person who's voice you can hear means they can breathe and are fully there, if someone is quiet, they need immediate attention. 3.) DON'T ever remove anyone's or own helmet after a crash unless you/they can't breathe, in case of any neck or head injury , the helmet can at least provide support, taking it off can possibly injure the rider even more, making you now liable for their further injury. Just some basic tips, but acting quickly can save someone's life, keep a med kit on you during rides so you at least have bandage and gloves in case you need to put pressure on an injury. Gear up and stay safe.

@@majinbroly7886 100% disagree. Trail braking should not be standard street riding practice. Trail braking is a track technique used to get through turns faster. @Showtek100 Год назад
@@ClevelandBeemertrail braking isn't a track only technique at all. It's actually taught at higher level road riding courses I've done. It's actually a far safer way of taking corners particularly blind corners as you're already on the brakes so if anything unexpected happens like a road hazard, decreasing radius corner etc your already on the brakes, slowing down and prepared. Take more courses.
@ClevelandBeemer
@ClevelandBeemer Год назад
@@Showtek100 hi there! Totally disagree. As fate would have it, I happen to be a riding instructor. The point of not needing to trail in regular road riding is because it suckers you into overcommitting when riding at pro speeds with novice/average skill. As shown on this video, riding at the limit leaves ZERO margin for error. So if you’re committing to corners at speeds that require you to trail to make the corner on public roads, then you’re doing it wrong in my opinion. That is why I’m of the opinion that it’s a track only skill.

Can’t believe you posted this. Sure, I saw the title, but watching you ride, it was only going to be a matter of time. Road conditions weren’t great either, really, and then maybe you were riding the twisties with guys with far more skill level. It is best to ride at your own pace and skill levels, safely. Anybody can go fast in a straight line. Bucking around on the highway in traffic is not cool, either. Sometimes you have to let the others just go. One of my buddy’s I use to road race with, has had more bikes than me. He had an R1 and told me to take it out. I did, and came back. He said really take it for a ride. Now I have all kinds of experience on all kinds of bikes, on and off the track. I even drifted a Goldwing, spinning the rear tire with my wife on the back. However. , that R1, I had a difficult time keeping both the front and rear down almost all the time. But, then I could ride. I suggest you take racing lessons, go racing , and see what you and a bike can really do. Stay safe and always ride at your own pace. The potential is always going to be there for shite to happen. Decrease your odds.

Glad your ok and the lord was looking out for you. I crashed my 22 R1 end of April. First crash after 20 years of riding. Very humbling and I thank the lord for watching over me and keeping me alive. I broke my humorous right at the shoulder and fractured my T11 vertebrae in my back but blessed to be here. I am still doing Physical therapy trying to recover. God bless brother and heal up soon.

I’m sorry thjs happened to you. Really glad to see you were wearing full gear. Ignore all the haters here. There are those that hafe crashed, and those who haven’t “yet”. Not sure if you ride on the track or how long you have been riding, but my advice. Go do a bunch of track schools. The California Superbike School, Yamaha Champs schools are both great. Get a Ninja 400, KTM390 of something small, and master that baby. Small bikes are way more fun and you will learn a ton. I’m an old man who has done 35 years of street and many many year of track. You got this. Just be open to learning ❤

WOW! that could've ended VERY very badly, I'm glad you were able to walk away man! Don't fret about the bike, they can be rebuilt/replaced, you can't. Tormod is right, your eyes are the most important tool you use when you ride. You go where you look, you get your sense of speed from them. That corner didn't look too difficult from the footage, it actually resembles a corner where my best friend went down last summer, his pace was a little aggressive and he target fixated. Looks like the same might've happened here? Again, glad you're able to walk away from it. Look at it as a lesson learned. Ride safe!

Target fixated for sure, you can clearly see it from the footage of the helmet mount (i guess) camera. He's looking directly and the cliff not at the road ahaed. Very unlucky, could happen to anyone, but he's good and that's the only thing that matter

Wow really scary bro, you did your best to stay alive ! Looking the video is not the same as being on the handlebar, but i'll give some tips for ppl who's here watching and beggining motorcycle, this shit happened to me, missing a corner or going too fast in it, sometimes you learned it the hard way. As a first tips i'll say FOV : Try to always keep on the exterior of the corner to maximize the vision of the road, the farest u can see the more you got info like is there an other corner, or a tractor, etc, and ALWAYS make sure you adapt the allure to allows you to get enough distance to brake. And in a corner forget about the track path from circuit for the chrono, on the road your main goal is environment and road info and adapt with it. Second one is no ego : drive fast for you, not to impress others, if you drive in convoi dont let the thrill and ego pushing you out of your driving limits. Also here in europe i see a lot of guys who's looking at your rear tyre and judging your skills because u don't worn all the tyre tread, there's different way to take a corner with your body etc, dont judge at the tyre you'll be surprized. 😂 Third one is the road always win : by this i mean that you can't control the road parameters, it can be dirty, used, snowy, wet, etc.. Always adapt your allure to the road parameters. 4th one, paranoïa : By these i mean adapt your focusness and keep in mind that no ones sees you, cars can pull over you at any time or reverse gear to park when you're behind, etc, and don't forget about intersection, had my first accident in 10 years few month ago in town because of this, you forget a small intersection with a redlight, you know the road, you do your thing everyday, and one night you got someone who go on red light while yours is green and if you're going too fast you'll say hello like i did on the car, hopefully i just had a radius fracture, managed to do traction and curls few weeks later eheh.. Ride safe ma boi'sssss and eat some baguette 🥖

Lots of insurance policy's say they don't cover accidents that involve speeding, racing, stunting, stupidity, etc so if you think you can just throw your bike away and have insurance pay for it you may be in for a shock.

My tips! Practice cornering on trackdays on wider tracks first! Look up tire pressure information! Consider riding a motorcycle with pressures lower than the pressures reported in the motorcycle manual! Remember that setting the bike for maximum grip in corners makes the bike harder in a straight line, more tiring to ride in a straight line!

@apg4gearhead yeah, here in the U.S. you can jump straight on a literbike with no experience. It is not wise, but people do it. It doesn't matter what bike you ride though, the problem is kids going into twisties thinking they know what they are doing. I never ride a new set of twisties fast, unless I keep people in front of me who do know them. That way I can see how sharp they are turning on each curve. I'll go around them at 100 MPH if I know them or have people in front that know them. This kid didn't have a clue.

For those who want an explanation, it's very clear that he wasn't far enough in on his left shoulder. When bikes turn they actually go out wide, because of this when he went to go make that turn he couldnt because he was already too far over. Luckily he went in forward not sideways otherwise he could have been seriously injured. Anyways glad your alive, stay safe and wish you luck.
