to be fair, the last few generations for gaming CPU on both sides have kind of flatlined. Its more about the gains of inches there, whereas things are alot more interesting with rendering and encoding. What does that tell us? It tells us that 1) Gaming CPUs are blazingly fast and dont require frequent upgrades generationally. and 2) We dont need to overspend on a CPU for gaming. You might make the argument of the 7800X3D but realistically a 13600K or 5800X3D isnt that far off either. Are you really going to notice the difference between 400 and 500fps in the games you play? No.
@@daemonx867 bro I have a 7500F which I bought for the same price a 12400f goes for nowadays and not only does it boost up to 5GHz all core. It's also fully unlocked and I got mine to stable 5.5GHz all core on air. Say what you will about AMD's shady tactics but they make intel look like clowns for sure.
@@elysian3623 you think releasing ryzen 7000 non x 3 months after after the release of the ryzen 7000x variants isn't shady?. or maybe when they released the ryzen 9 7900x3d and 7950x3d two months before the 7800x3d. Don't get me wrong amd is way better than intel when it comes to being customer friendly but that just because they want to win as much market share as they can and trust me if there wasn't any competition they would be just as bad as intel was before ryzen was a thing.
@@chadfang2267 They are as bad as Intel was before Ryzen was a thing though... We're still getting 6 cores for 300€ at release and we're 7 years after the release of the 1st Ryzen gen, which have the same core configuration as Ryzen CPUs releasing now.
Dude the only one that's beating the 14400f is the OC version. The 14400f can be further OC then the 12400f lol. These budget cpus are monsters for OC it's kind of weird.
@@reviewforthetube6485you need a Z series board to Oc a 13 & 14 gen cpu. The 12th gen can be Oc by a B series board that have bclk overclocking like the ASRock B660M PG RIPTIDE
I’ve run my 12400 at 5.2ghz without issue. BCLK OC 12th gen with a supported is incredible value. You can buy a supported board AND a 12400F on Newegg for $218!!!! Add in some cheap DDR5 and you get a beast setup on the cheap.
Hello brahhh, pls help me :| ,I am using i3 12100f , gigabyte b660m ds3h ax ddr 4 wifi,,GTX 1660 super ,cooler master 450 watt psu, 3600mhz ram team group t force rgb ,this video is showing i5 14400f is consuming only 55-60 watt power in gaming, can I upgrade my processor to that without changing psu,I have updated bios, my current rig is easily sparing out 150-200 watts :), I am using a deepcool air cooler, I SUBSCRIBEE YOUU :D
but check your board cpu support list first, maybe gigabyte made 14gen supported, like some msi board in amd 320 series, which now supports all am4 processors
@@iikatinggangsengii2471 hello :), gigabyte webpage of this motherboard, shows in CPU SUPPORT LIST , 14th gen all processors supported since a particular bios version update,I have updated even to the more newer one 😄
With a BCLK overclocking with special motherboards that allow it like the B760M PG RIPTIDE for example. After that there are others, but much more expensive, so not very interesting for a simple 12400F.
thank you. i wish you put pubg again. love to see your bench setup. currently using 12400f, b660m riptide. when hit 5Ghz it just amazing. unfortunately when overclocking it, sleep menu on windows 10 just disappear. is it just me ? any suggestion ?
Could someone help me choose a processor? I'm watching movies and I still can't choose, 2 years ago I had an AMD 5600x, currently a laptop with 7300hq, I'm looking for a video and music editing setup.
Some motherboards have external bclk generator, which allows you overclock CPU by increasing it's base clock ratio on CPU only, not screwing up anything in system. They increase base ratio from 100.0 (100x40=4000MHz) to 125.0 (125x40=5000MHz).
I5 12400F VS oc VERSION SEEMS TO BE GREAT COMPARED TO I5 14400F CPU... bUT CAN A I5 12TH GEN BE OVERCLOCKED? I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TOLD ONLINE THAT ITS NOT POSSIBLE AND I NEED A K CPU FOR THIS?? HOW TO O.C CPU IS IT HARD OR IS IT JUST KIND OF W GPU AND I NEED A SOFTWARE TO DO IT OR WHAT EXACTLY(WOULD BE GRET 4 ME)
By increasing the base clock, all cpu has base clock of 100MHz(98MHz something or even 100MHz) which is then multiplied by 39x to get 3900MHz or 3.9GHz. But this guy has increased that base clock of 100MHz to let's say 120MHz, which is illegal according to intel and few years ago Asrock used to do this in their low tier motherboard but then intel told them to stop. But now I think the high tier Z series board has this feature of increasing base clock but I might be wrong.
Can 12400f be overclocked ? that mean my 13400f can also be overclocked? can somebody tell me how to do that. I thought that F series cpu's cannot be overclocked.
No, you can't, only 12th supports bclk oc without k index. b760m pg riptide can do it with 12th gen and it costs 140$ in my country, not bad result. Can't decide for now what should i buy - 7500f or 12400f, 2nd is better in oc than ryzen in oc
By posting this comment you have shown everyone you are just a AMD fan boy. You can OC the 1440f and get more frames than the 12400f OC. So the 14400f wins. And I can buy this CPU and spend more on the gpu. How much is a 7600x? Over $200 and it doesn't come with a stock cooler. Price to performance Intel wins.
@@ser1es835 I have never use Amd cpu or gpu in my life lol. Been using intel for 15 years. Still using i7 11700kf with 3080. But intel has lost the plot from last couple of years. Most of the i7 13, 14 gen are having issues and dying and I feel lucky that I haven't upgraded. Now if intel doesn't come up with decent 15 gen cpus with good upliftin performance then I will be going for Ryzen 7 or 9.
its not worth as the cost is same as better proc instead oc used to bargain since low costs can oc to match highend pcs, now its the other way, oc for highend pcs
@@zlibz4582 there aren’t very many, only budget one I know is B660m mortar max DDR4. The rest used to be 1000+ dollars so not worth it but there should be a list somewhere online.
until i get an explanation as for why the gpu utility is so low in gpu demanding games i am not satisfied with this benchmark video, how can cyberpunk utilize only ~60% of a 4090?
Thats why I love amd, why the heck intel is locking their cpu's overclocking behind z mobos and k models. We are living in 2024... This is why Im skipping intel since amds bulldozer.
@@TechZone199 but it didn't win lol it lost in every game to the 14400f. Only the OC version won and if the 14400f was OC with its power it would have surpassed the OC 12400f. These all of the budget intel cpus Oc like crazy. It's mind blowing you can get 15 to 30fps gains. My 13400f smacks up many mid range cpus after it's OC. Its able to fully handle my 4070 super now also without it's crazy 30% bottleneck from before. Still a slight one but not as bad.
@@TechZone199 I agree im just saying it didn't win because alot of people in the comments. Not you but alot of people can't read and keep saying 12400f wins lol.
U need z series motherboard or MSI mag mortar b660 , I mean only specific motherboard can do this which are well above the price of this processor, hence don't justify it
It's a budget cpu wtf did you expect? The 13400f was only a 5% difference from the 12400f lol. So what did you expect? Also how about you OC the 14400f before you judge it. These little monsters OC like insane amounts it's crazy. My 13400f smacks up alot of kid range cpu in gaming now due to the monster OC I have on it.
