Thumbs up if you're watching this in 2021 😎 UPDATE: I just released a new DRUM LESSON PACK! -> bit.ly/CobusLessons. 5 lessons, 90 minutes, for 27 bucks. It will make you better at tuning drums, mixing drums, I'll show you my practice routine, my worst habits as a self-taught drummer, and teach you one of my favourite linear licks. Thanks for being here!
some people claimed that they can't stand his taste in music.. but i love it.. i think the song choices are brilliant. i hope u guys realize that drumming is not only for metal, fast beat songs. it's not about how fast u can go.. but how you hit each notes and fills perfectly.. and i think he did it all perfectly perfect... plus, all of us are already aware of how fast he is...
I love this series because now he has nothing to prove so he is just playing the song and still making it awesome but he seems more relaxed about it. Phenominal.
People, will you stop saying that you miss the old Cobus. His new vids are like he has refound drumming. He's almost settling in to a new lifestyle. Studio life that is. You have to congrudulate him, not give out cause 'he doesnt do that many fills anymore'. Cobus has grown up, you should do the same people. Cobus you are Savage!! :)
I think what I like about your drumming the most is how much you enjoy yourself when your playing. I mean so many jelous people can insult you, and you'll keep playing and looking so damn happy! Keep playing because according to me, your kinda awesomee
As a guitarist.. I, as does Cobus im sure, would much rather play perfectly and more technically than just play a tune! Don't get me wrong, I loved what he used to do when he played other songs! When you play like a professional, you get treated like one! Cobus is definitely living the dream at the moment! Recording in a high class studio, not to mention collaborating with other fantastic artists/producers on youtube (Tyler Ward)! Cobus is absolutely incredible and is getting better every cover!
I love how at 2:28 he does the most EPIC one-handed tom roll anyone has ever seen, and he just continues on like it was no big deal. WHAT. THE. FLIP?! Cobus is the boss.
You're definitely a great inspiration, keep doing what you're doing, cause You've inspired me to just practice, and I hope there are others who get inspired as well!
Jesus!! This is amazing!! at least you can watch the techniques from that song!!... Did you wanna an smile?? there is it!! He smiled!!... Stop saying "oh, I miss the old Cobus" or "Why doesn't he smile?" C'mon!! He enjoys making covers!!... about his music selection?? C'mon! HE MAKES THE COVERS!! not us!! Keep it up Cobus, you're the best!!
@Candid023 If you read the description you'll notice that he still does all the post himself on the same equipment he's always been using . . . he just has a few more cameras and operators.
This is absolutely incredible. Great stuff here, great stuff. Still putting a ton of emotion into what you do, and no amount of technical skills can compare with that. (Course, you having that helps a bit, I suppose.)
Cobus should do a revisited DVD where he goes back and covers the songs he covered 4-5 years ago. That might be something that would appeal to some of his viewer base that aren't liking some of the newer stuff.
@NickRoelsConcerts13 ZBT's ARE Zildjian, they're just the starter series cymbals. So no, Tre doesn't use ZBTs, he just endorses them (rightfully so by the way, I love the bright sound of the 13 inch hi hat and the crash ride)
@BuddhaMaster84 I see your point and yes it is a good one. Maybe he should pick songs that he can be more free with but if you are a true Cobus fan you will see that he deserves what he has been given. His past series is Cobus being more than unique and people know what he can do so why do people pull him down in this series. He has put himself out to be hugely talented and thats because he is. I believe this new series is his more technical side, a new side to Cobus. I have no complaints.
i get that cobus wants to be more technical than anything, but i feel like hes doing more legit covers with less fun in them. he was always so happy doing covers, even in his last series
@TheJVDrums yea the fact that he also shared to us how he played his original piece, its just that there are some insecured people that cannot play like cobus. instead of being insecured at him why dont they study? insecurity wont bring us anything but it will cause our early downfall :) cheers for cobus!!!!!
i wonder if cobus could give a description of what he was thinking when he was planning this specific series. i think we all can see that this series is a different take on covers in terms of drumming (the production is obvious), but cobus' style has definitely changed and i wonder if he could give us a view into his mind. i would have asked him personally if i was able to go his "tour" but sadly i couldnt.
@thepeacedrummer I think you're right. It sounds beastly though. At the every least he's using his cymbals. I'd recognize that emblem anywhere. That what drummers get picky about anyways. That and snare drums. Everything else can be kinda messed with to achieve the sound you want.
Although I don't usually listen to 95% of the songs Cobus covers, I appreciate how Cobus take a piece of crap song and turn it in to something enjoyable.
@blackcap Vadrum is good, thats for sure. But I can't decide who is better. They play two totally different styles of music but they're both really good at what they do.
Stop saying this is gay! he covers the music he likes! if he covered a song that u wanted and he does not like, what is the point of doing all this, its called passion! people have it when they play music, when they hear a song they like, there is passions in it for them to play it. now if there is no passion, would you even play it?
I was just thinking that, Cobus should do some billy talent. I dunno, you might like or not like the drums. But if you do some how stumble upon this message, well nice song and great job with being an amazing drummer. And because of you, I GET TO GET A DRUM....maybe. lol, any ways, nice job Cobus :D
Dude, i was hearing this son and its amaizing i told to my self "Theres no way this can be any better" I told, hell yeah, This song plus cobus style = Awesomenes Hear this song and imagine cobus playing it /watch?v=s0FaxMTv4RU Thumbs Up if you think this should be his next cover :)
@JamesUk91 I'm not sure why he hasn't said anything in his channel but in a recent Cobus LIVE STREAM video he said that for these videos he's trying to drum as little as possible and just jam with the song.
