63 minutes long experiment testing the pre-release version of the SUMU virtual Instrument by Madrona Labs. I was mostly using it fed through Valhalla Vintage Verb & some Morphverb near the end.
I hope someone else makes one. I have other things to be doing. If you know Madrona Labs plugins, it's not much of a learning curve from the other ones. Besides, I'm not setup for making demonstration videos, just for experimenting. Still, bearing all that in mind, I'm sure watching it's use for a while can help accustomise the user to grasp some details.
I don't remember you mentioning this before. Looks like a great instrument. The interface is a little testing for me. With my eyesight I have a real hard time resolving parallel lines so following what is connected to what would be hard for me. It sounds great though. Do you know how much it will cost?
Yes, it's on Pre-release for $129 which will rise to $179 when it's ready. They have been working on this for 5 years I think, as that's when they first mentioned it on the Madrona Labs website. I'm just glad I suddenly had the money at the right time
@@RubberPlant1966 that puts it out of my price-range. If I'm going to spend that much I would get another hardware synth. Looking forward to what you come up with with this. I'm still listening, at the moment I'm about 23 mins in.
I don't see Ian doing it in this video, but you can click on any patch cord to dramatically highlight it, with a drop shadow. This should make it easier to follow. By repeatedly clicking you can cycle the highlight through all the patch cords that cover a single spot. -Randy
