This just confirms my view that the reason BoJo is so hated by Hislop and the Liberal left is because of brexit. Unfortunately, BoJo didn't vote for brexit. The voters did.

@@crh7742 Exactly my point. White privilege comes to mind, (even though we have a "brown" PM.) And as Ian pointed out in this interview, he was surprised at the lack of any racism in the press about Rishi being the first non-white PM. Next we'll have a disabled trans person in power. There are many great long lightly cut interviews with smart interesting guests around now. There's YT channels & podcasts that specialise in them, while PBS has some like "The Putin Files", the Silicon Curtain regularly has varied guests and a perceptive interviewer. For a dramatic topic "American Psyops" is a series with Wes Clarke jnr, which illuminates the intersecting world of international money, film, state intelligence agencies, politics and NATO chiefs featuring the general's son who rather drifted once leaving the US army.

Ian Hislop has been on the high wire of political discourse in Britain for over 30 years. He has consistently asked the difficult and challenging questions without coming down on one side or the other. Ultimately that is a role that has a real value. His broadcasts give food for thought, and show paradoxes and hypocrisy in mainstream narratives without providing answers or prescriptions. It is a very technically challenging role, a very emotionally and intellectually challenging role that he has done as a free agent for over 30 years. He is a diplomat to the public sphere of discourse who has paid his own way. In his own very understated, modest and typically British way he manages to engage with audiences and questions them and educate them and enables them to grow and ask questions. He is an educator and a national treasure!

Give me a break. Exemplar? Who uses words like that except little green men. 142 of them to be precise. Putin should sack you, but then he should sack his army. But there is no one better to replace you all. Back in 1932 Stalin thought people who starved to death were purposely starving to spite him. He thought the Ukranians and kulaks were starving as a form of protest so he made things even worse for Ukraine. Even then Europe did absolutely nothing to help Ukraine. It didn't even make the newspapers. I guess people were too busy laughing at satirical publications back then too, taking justified pot shots at the bungling politicians and thinking it's proof we are a great bunch because we got a sophisticated sense of humour.
