0:40 I had no idea that it was even possible to recite Shakespeare that fast! This man is truly amazing.

If said fast enough, Shakespeare is essentially the OG Eminem

Roderigo seems far too old to be throwing a tantrum like that.

+Coral Roper He's one of the dumbest characters in the history of fiction, it doesn't surprise me he'd act like that.

He's an overgrown man child, a spoiled brat. Perfectly in character.

Gosh, Iago, don't hold back your feelings about Othello. Tell us how you really feel.

Watched this while studying Othello at college in my English A level one girl swore Iago was actually gay for Othello.

Not going to lie Alexis, I literally wrote an essay about him being gay for Othello.

I can see the aergument tbh (apparently Shakespeare was bisexual).

A lot of historians have theorised it and honestly it wouldn't surprise me considering most of the jokes in shakespeare are suspiciously dick jokes.

McKellan's delivery is about as alive and original as it gets! An absolute Master!

Watched this version in A level English I found it so funny they overact so much, I love how Rodrigo had a literal hissy fit/toddler tantrum lol

This is one of the best Shakespeare soliloquies. I find is so interesting how the same words can be made to feel totally different just through their delivery. I've always loved Kenneth Branagh's version of this speech, his 'I hate the Moor' just drips with genuine disgust, whereas McKellen's version is far more venomous.

Iago is lucky to have such a witless worm as Roderigo to manipulate
@ShadowSonic2

It's funny, a lot of Iago's success doesn't just come from his manipulative ability...it comes from everyone around him acting like idiots.
