Hey all, yesterday I sat on the new Moto Morini Calibro 700. RE has some serious competition. 28 inch seat height, 4 gallon tank, cast wheels, easy to pick up off side stand, not top heavy, and 61 horse power. $5,999 USA dollars, about $7,400 out the door.

G’day Ian & Sue, welcome to my world, I have the 2022 model ‘Sunset’ custom 650 Interceptor & registered February 2023 new, 6,500 klms now travelled, options added at purchase are engine crash bars & Givi panniers. No issues at all with the bike & at 12 months service added RE touring seat.. the standard suspension setup is fine for me (80kg) & at this stage no plans to modify.. I will be doing the exhaust muffler mod due to weight & they get very hot.. not a problem solo but could be with a pillion… YSS front suspension upgrade seems very popular amongst the owners online.. but a simple fork oil change could be the answer.. congratulations on the new purchase & I’m sure you’ll sort out any issues and/or modifications as there a great platform to work with.. cheers Phil 🇦🇺

Great choice for a two up longer distance mile muncher. I'd always choose an Interceptor over a T100, not least because the Interceptor is air cooled with an oil cooler radiator (like the Himalayan), rather than water cooled like all the post 2015 T100's, which gives it far more character and much less to go wrong. Just like the Bullet 500 is the closest you will get to a 1950's bike, the Interceptor is the closest you'll get to a 1960's bike. You're covering pretty much every angle with the selection of bikes you have now. I'd seriously consider putting a Fuel X Lite on each of them, as they are air cooled. They will run richer, cooler and even better. An easy fit too. I've just fitted one to my Classic 500 and will add one to my Euro 4 Himalayan soon. Great you have Sue supporting you here. I forgot to add that you need to be careful around those mufflers-they get really hot. I mean, burn you before you realize you’ve touched them hot. If I were going to change anything that doesn’t really need changing, it would be the mufflers. They’re not only really hot, they’re really heavy.

My wife and I just got home from a 160 mile ride on my Orange Crush Interceptor. I think this is the best color. It certainly draws attention. My wife has no issues with the passenger pegs. I’ve seen others complain about them, but my wife is about 5’2 and never complains. It’s a little small for the two of us (I’m about 6’) in terms of seat room. It’s not roomy enough for me to move around with a passenger. The main issue with it is the seat itself. I replaced the original plank with the touring seat, but it’s still not comfortable for longer rides. I had to commandeer my wife’s air hawk seat cushion to endure the ride home today. The suspension could probably be improved, but it’s not an expensive bike, so I didn’t expect expensive suspension. It’s ok for my riding. Just be prepared to absorb the bumps and dodge the potholes. I replaced the stock tires when they were worn out with Bridgestone 46’s and it makes high speed riding more confidence inspiring. The stock Ceat tires got a little skittish at speeds over 60 mph. It has sufficient power for us with a combined weight of a little over 300 pounds. I hope you enjoy your new bike. It should prove reliable and a good platform for upgrades.

We can't be good boys all the time coz the girls would think we've gone soft🙂. My wife's not happy today as I picked up Classic 350. Nearly new with only 363 miles on it.

I have had my interceptor since new in 2019, it's the black and chrome. I have a velorex sidecar gt sport fitted,and it's a great outfit. So far it's been great. I changed the seat on mine. I found the standard seat much too hard. I have fitted the Hitchcocks king and queen. Much better for me. Hope you show your mods as they are fitted. VBW.

I put the footpeg relocation kit from hitchcocks 👍it will interesting to see what you can do with the suspension, i put some 6mm shims in the top of the forks it's helped a bit, watch the dorman diaries it's his mate that makes them and sells them 👍🏍🙂🇬🇧

For two Ian good choice especially for your longer trips, I just ride solo now and only 150 mls max, so classic and hunter suit me although been fancying a Himalayan lately have to see, look forward to more vids, NW biker dude, over the hill but refuses to grow up
