I agree with you mostly but I would add that I get annoyed when people put TVD in a box of Teen Drama, because to me is so much more, the level is so much higher. If you look at it as an adult as I did, you would notice the level of writing, the use of metaphors, a stunning, compelling, poetic, story of two brothers, never seen before or ever since on TV, you notice the level of acting and character development, the amount of details like 30% of the script is in body language that if you notice changes the sense of a scene, the psychology, the beautiful cinematography etc. The toughs that went into that show are mind blowing, certainly worth of more consideration than just been classified as simple "teen TV drama".

Agreed. I do agree with him in the sense that Swann would give better, more helpful advice..and would be considered a better role model, but I also never thought Damon was the absolute worst person to have a relationship with. Sure, not the greatest, but not necessarily the worst either. I think he meant "relationships" as plural; all of them. And that I can completely agree with, because Damon compromised every one of his relationships many times. Stefan, Elena, Bonnie, Alaric, Liz, Caroline etc.. At the end of the day, I still think..at heart, Damon did really love and care for the people important to him. And I do think as seasons past, we'd see it more and more. But yeah, I agree with Ian. Between Luther and Damon, Swann would be a better example of how to have good, healthy relationships. But I still love Damon. 😄
