Bamon brings out the best in each other and they obviously have a HUGE amount of respect for the other. With Bonnie, Damon has found his humanity and his hope.

Because factually since day 1 Elena has been his only humanity and hope. - So much to the point that Damon stopped being a psychopath, and did good for the sake of her and from there on their relationship foundation were built of respect, and then eventually evolved into friendship and furthermore intense feelings which evolved into powerful love. Only that their journey to that reached end goal is way more intricate and advanced than any tenderly melancholic comedic romance movie ever created, or the way I make it out to sound like. She made him feel human (a.k.a alive), existentially meaningful, and vice versa. The only person Damon has ever truely respected is Elena, and always will, as of the deeply devoted love he cherishes for her and that links back to the early days of his dark and unwell past. Don't confound the story arc, are you kind. You're only spreading misconceptions and unfounded anticipations based off false beliefs. Please stop with that! I never said Damon won't respect Bonnie in the future, let alone an eminent friendship flourishing looks far more than a highly probable outcome/prediction of a near future event in the serie to happen. But solely speaking relations; deep down the only person he'll _ever_ _truely_ respect _is_ actually Elena.

He is the one playing the character so he has some VALID INSIGHTS as to what his character is like.
serenity0324 I think all the humanity thing is a process, a very loong process in the case of Damon but Bonnie has a lot to do with that. Bonnie's personal tendencies do have a big impact on Damon, she leads by the example and she has made her value for life, love and frienship quite clear to Damon and at the end he is not inmune to that.

1:36 I hate how the writers made Damon SO eager to get Bonnie back and then made his feelings forget about Bonnie and focused on Elena. I mean, whatever he can focus on Elena back at least at some small points he could have been like, "Aw, Bonnie" you know? It's hard for me to explain things lol
I totally get what you mean I've been thinking the same thing, it's like one minute he'll be all about getting Bonnie back then the next it's kissy face with Elena...it's almost like the writers just couldn't stand Damon being all about Bonnie even for just a little while. It is very annoying!
Yeah I agree I would’ve liked them to be toaster for another 3 months, but the writers were too scared to show BBC that Damon and Bonnie’s relationship you know that constant bickering would have grown into actual feelings idk why they never wanted them together Kat and Ian have so much chemistry I swear like they are always so affectionate with each other and that would’ve reflected beautiful on screen but whatever writers Caroline and Producer Julie were adamant about keeping Damon focused on a catatonic Elena which in term made the show less interesting
I love love love the Bonnie and Damon scenes and I hope when Bonnie returns that her and Damon still interact. They are the main reason I still tune in. I think Julie Plec is afraid that if people see them interact too much they will finally start to notice the amazing on screen chemistry between Kat and Ian and how his chemistry fizzles with Nina in comparison. Damon and Elena are a yawn for me.
I'll have to disagree with you on this. I find Kat Graham as Bonnie quite dull and inexpressive. I don't know if she's supposed to be like that or Kat simply can't act. And I see no strong chemistry with Ian/Damon. It like them as friends, there is a nice interaction there and it's nice to see them evolving in so many ways, but I wouldn't go as far as saying that Ian's chemistry with Nina is poor. Au contraire, they're still so good, taking into account their recent personal affairs..
Sugarfree Nbd No offence but I don't agree with you on that one. Kat and Ian have an amazing chemistry and I think you have to be blind not to see it. Besides the whole Damon and Elena thing is getting old. I think its time for a change.
Ok, I'm not offended but I can't admit that I'm wrong. I'm usually open to interpretations, but I've been watching and analysing this show and its characters way too much to be mistaken. I'm not saying there is no chemistry in Bamon, there is, but at a different level. And that's how it should be. Should the writers romantically link these two, they'd create a huge gap in the whole story-line. I don't think they will, but even so, Bamon would not be end game. As for Delena, I'm not going to comment too much on that, because it's pretty obvious. I get it, you don't ship them. Although it's already not about shipping them or not, it's about being realistic and having an open/analytical mind. Time will tell. Meanwhile, enjoy the show!
oh, one more thing: you can't just "change" things and story-lines in a show just for the sake of it. They have to be logically connected and develop in a relevant way. Take the example of Steroline. Their friendship has started way back in season 2 and it's developed gradually and I think will have a happy end for them. And it won't be shocking or disturbing because it makes sense. Now name 3 important/relevant Bamon scenes from the previous seasons that could count as hints to a possible romantic relationship.
Guys I told you Damon was having sex with Bonnie physical attraction and so emotional too. In real life Ian Somerhalder loves Kat Graham no he fell in love with Kat he can't stop talking about her something real is happening here but something special between them. If Ian wasn't married to Nina he would date Kat definitely.
because damon is elena. his life is elena. he loves elena and he was doing for elena. whatever he does is for elena so how can u expect him not to say it. damon would’ve killed bonnie a long time ago if it weren’t for elena. hell, he would’ve kill caroline, jeremy, matt, etc if he DIDNT love and care about elena so much.
@@hn-eq5dz no characters story line should be about someone else, that would make the character so boring. Damon is his own character and he was good on his own, his life shouldn’t have been revolved around elena. His character developed, and he started to care for Bonnie, so it kinda stopped being all about elena once she died.
Season 6 is when I felt the full sibling vibe between Damon and Bonnie. Damon and Bonnie are my favorite characters, together and separately, but I don't ship them. I love Damon with Elena. Their dynamic always made sense to me, so as a couple, they always made sense to me. I loved them in every season because of the way they're written. Even during their sire bond, which most fans seem to hate, but a storyline that I happen to love. I would've liked Damon in the prison world longer, but it made sense to pull him out when they did.

Just to warn all of you, this comment is really long, so don't read if you don't want to read too much. I don't know how many of you would comment about this, but here it goes: I've noticed that most of are you Delena fans and Bamon fans. To be honest with everyone, I'm not really a shipper, but I do ship any couple as long as they made sense. Even though I was sad about Elena and Stefan broke up, but I knew it was going to happen eventually. I was liking in the fourth season on how they are getting into Elena and Damon love story, but what kind of ruined it for me is the whole stupid sire bond thing. I knew it was only to cause drama, but i still think it's stupid. Even when the fourth season ended and been made clear that the sire bond no longer existed, many people still believe that it was still there. I think we all know what was wrong with season five. Other than the major plot holes and confusing storylines in that season, the characters, usually Elena, was completely out of character. I know they had to change, obviously, but Elena had really changed. When Damon first broke up with Elena, I was surprised that Elena didn't fight with him on it. Since when Elena had given up so easily like that? Elena isn't the one to give up when she believe in something so strongly, like their relationship. What I love about season six is the whole refresh thing. I love that Elena had her memories taken away and hopefully the writers take their time with Damon and Elena's love story. I think some of you should give their storyline another chance before completely given up. As for Damon and Bonnie, I'm not really on board with them being a couple anymore. I wasn't really against the idea in season three, when I heard that Damon was going to sleep with someone (which turns out to be Rebekah, ugh) and it was possible that Damon and Bonnie may get together. I heard rumors that they were going with that storyline, but changed their minds. Elena had actually made Damon care again, and made him a better person. Even though I sometimes miss the old Damon, I like how Damon changed because of Elena. But the thing is, Damon is still kind of selfish. Even though we sometimes caught Damon doing something selfless, he still have issues about being a good vampire. That would be a good storyline in season 5, which i think was the reason why they brought in Enzo, to remind him why he love killing people in the first place. Of course, it was badly written and that storyline didn't made sense at all. Which bring me back to Damon and Bonnie's relationship. I absolutely love the whole storyline between Damon and Bonnie. I do agree that it did ended too early, but obviously the writers have plans on having Kai getting out of there, so they needed Bonnie to stick around for that. I love how Bonnie changed Damon. Like Ian said, Damon is becoming a much better person because of Bonnie. Which is why I do not want them to be a couple. I think Bonnie is better for Damon as a friend than another love interest. I know some of you really want them to be together, but if you're the fan of the show, you really need to look at the characters and what the show means. Since season 1, Bonnie had not shown any interest in Damon, and I don't' see why that should change now. Plus, she's the only main character in the show that had not slept with Damon. That is why I love Bonnie because she isn't the kind of girl that would go for someone like Damon, other than the fact that he is her best friend boyfriend. Bonnie isn't just loyal to Elena, but to Jeremy. I really don't see her doing something to betray them like that. I don't want to see another drama on the show that would be something you would watch on Secrete Life of An American Teenager. As for the show, I know many of you are on certain teams like Delena, Bamon, Stelena, etc, but I think some of you are completely missing the point of the show. This probably would sound very corny, but it is about love. It not just falling in love with someone, but the love you would have for a best friend, or brother or anyone. What I miss about the show is when Elena, Caroline and Bonnie are just simply hanging out, no drama or anything. The writers should have tried having them together as much as they can since they really do love each other. Same with Stefan and Damon. Even though they are often not good brothers, they still love and care for each other. I'm also hoping for Enzo and Alaric to have their own bromance (although i do like the idea of Enzo being the lone wolf in the show). I also liking the new love that is coming like Tyler and Liv. I'm glad that they are giving Liv and Luke a much better storyline in this season. well, so far anyway. Stefan and Caroline would've been fine as friends, but obviously the writers are going to make them a couple soon. I think Damon and Bonnie would care for each other as friends, which would be unique since they can understand each other on what they went through for the months they been together on the other side. If you guys manage to read all of this and still comment on it, I would really be surprised since this is the longest comment i've ever written. lol.
***** I'm not exactly talking about intimacy between Damon and Bonnie. I know this is just a soap opera show and it's mostly for teenagers, but what i like about the show is that we can relate to it. Whenever I watch soap opera, it gets really ridiculous Lol. What I meant about the relationship between Damon and Bonnie is that it would made more sense for them to be friends rather than being a couple. I do agree about what you say about how Bonnie is good for Damon, challenging him and all that, but that all can happen without them being a couple. I always thought that if Damon had more people to care for and be loyal to, the more better person he can become. I know that Bonnie will be very good for him. I love it in the episode this week is where Damon is actually helping Bonnie to get out and it got nothing to do with Elena. That is what I really wanted. I wanted Damon and bonnie to have their own unique friendship where they would be loyal to each other and doesn't have to be about Elena. Sometimes being friends with someone is better than being a couple. I honestly believe in that. As for Damon and Elena, I think the writers made a huge mistake in season four to make Elena sired to damon. Ever since then, Elena had not been the same. in the first three seasons, Elena was stubborn. She would sacrifice herself to save her family, friends and it took a few episodes for Damon and Stefan to convince her to try another option that require killing herself to Klaus. When Stefan loses his humanity, Elena was too stubborn to give up on him. In the fifth season, I don't know what the writers were thinking. I remember watching the scene where Damon broke up with Elena, Elena just let him go. I remember thinking that Elena wouldn't let Damon walk away like that. When she believe so strongly for her love to Damon, she would've fight with him about it. I understand why many people lost interest in Damon and Elena. I was honestly hoping that this season that the writers would bring back the old Elena. I love how they had her being compelled to forget her love for Damon, then having Damon come back. I did have this theory that Bonnie is going to be selfish when she comes back. I mean, how many times have that poor girl died to save her friends? I really do want to see Bonnie be a selfish, but willing to help her friends if they needed her as long as it doesn't get her killed along the way.
Lilmissshorty22 I never really care for the whole Damon and Elena thing. They should have never ended up together because lets face it, she was with Stefan first and don't think is fair that he lost Elena because of the whole sire bond thing. I feel it was all about control then it was about love. I seen and read more compelling love stories then Damon and Elena.I tried to understand their love but I just don;t feel it. Maybe Damon and Elena should just be friends. And lets not forget she looks way to much like the woman he was obsessed with for more then a century. That's just down right creepy. I liked Elena in the pass but now I don't know. Bonnie and Damon could have their own love story but things happen and we can't change it. And if they did decide to go that route they'er probably would mess it up like Damon and Elena in my opinion.
