I am a lineman for an ISP and i got sent to mexico beach for hurricane restoral ... I have seen pictures and seen damage on TV but to see the damage UP CLOSE and IN PERSON ....

It took two years for the county to pick up all the trees. We lost about 1/3 of all our mature trees. This in a wealthy area with the means to do all of this.

My neighbor in the back was devastated with Michael loss the roof lost their big outbuilding had tremendous damage yet she stood at the fence and talk to me about how insurance was such a rip off and so they didn’t have it. Yet she counted on churches to come and help her do everything for free! She did not even recognize how ridiculous it was to stand there and tell me how insurance was such a rip off even if she would’ve paid $100 a month for the last 10 years without making a claim that would’ve only been a fraction of the cost of fully recovering. We have lost the skill of critical thinking, and thinking ahead for sure. If you’re going to live in Florida you need to budget for insurance!
