Its really gives me strong Migraine whenever a Mr Know It All tries to potray Northeast as a single entity. The region is so diverse culturally, linguistically, traditionally and ofcourse historically that it would take more than 5 generations of Anthropologists of a single family to even scratch the surface let alone a Govt. Officer who serves an administrative region not more than 2-3 years that also when you are at the district level. After when they reach secretariat level ( which is always very soon) these officers dont even know whats going on the ground level. So giving this type of presentation about the whole of northeast region is same as Hollywood's representation of India as "Thank You, Come Again".
Exactly, they qualify an exam, only work here and these mainlanders act like they are the epitome of knowledge about our centuries old culture and traditions. Utterly pathetic bunch if you ask me.

Yes. If it was about people they would have provided roads .. electricity.. communication facilities long time back. Delhi only started infrastructure developmental planning on paper after 2005 only before that delhi wasn't aware of developmental activities on chinise side and they never wanted any trouble with China that's why they never initiated any developmental activities specially in border areas.

People love to blame and complain about India but I do not think they like to move to live in China, Burma, Bangladesh or Pakistan. India is not perfect and it is trying to right the wrongs of 1000 years of invasion and destruction. What I feel is that Tribal leaders in the North East today act so privileged that they expect everything to be provided to them. Tribals live in a protected world where there is no incentive for them to integrate with others. They are against mining, factories and dams and outsiders but they want electricity and phone and cars. Some Tribals are happy to cut down forest and grow poppy and poison the soil with pesticides. Development needs good law and order situation. This is not the case at the moment in the North East. Most places you are stopped, threatened and money extorted. It is much harder to develop and service a remote village specially in a mountain terrain. This is true everywhere in the world. We have complained enough, we should also genuinely work on the solutions because most people would prefer to live in India compared to Burma or Bangladesh or China.

If you're exposed to other world then I strongly feel NE is subject to frisking and hassling by Armies on their whimsical moods... Yes that's a rift it has created, but still political contractors thinks that's THE way out. NE is a ringworm which refuses to leave and migraine for politicians left behind by the British India.
From Meghalaya here, there's tales from the elders that any girl who cross paths with the army forces or enter army land area are either raped or disappeared. Those were back then i dont even know what years but this put a stain on the army reputations and are hated.
The indian govt and indian army treated the people of NE as su.b-hu.mans they still do the same. They're trying to era.se our his.tory by not including us in their syllabus.

28:44.. The reason why we speak Hindi in Arunachal Pradesh is because people speak different dialects in different districts.. and we have more than 30 plus tribes and subtribes in the state.. So as a common language we have Hindi and English..
that's why all of my friend from there speak good hindi,unlike me who learned from cartoon and bollywood😅,im from meghalaya , in here in meghalaya we speak a different dialect mine is maram but instead of hindi we used khasi language to communicate with other clan
Same goes for many states like my state Jharkhand..I know my mother tongue,then I also know two tribal language, English in school and Hindi is communication language mainly….. majority household has non-Hindi language but outside they all can speak Hindi
The common language until the recent past was Assamese in arunachal. Hindi is very new. My grandfather was a govt teacher in schools in Along, Doimukh, etc. for a long time.😊

In Arunachal there was conscious effort by govt of India to incorporate hindi language in school both written and spoken not because of presence of army.Army units are present in nagaland and mizoram also but naga or mizo ppl dont know spoken or written Hindi, though they also have lots of dialects.This man is not Fully knowledgeable.
Yes Hindi bacome mainstream in Arunachal only after the 1967 war which saw the deployment of mass army personnel. Arunachal must get over this Hindi invasion
Common men Northeast states were always in touch with Assam and ppl of assam who were more developed than other hill states, since 1800.Ppl in 1996 had televisions but 60s and 70s were lil poor in terms of modern amenities but post 80s these states were trying to move with time.
The whole of administration system in Tripura has completely been controlled by Bangladeshi immigrants. Majority became minority in our own land. This is very very much a concerning discussion

I think if you are posted in NE again you will feel more well come and Love because we NE people have a feeling that IPs and IAS officers who come from mainland are only doing his or her duties but he doesn't Love or care for people and Land, if the people come to know that you are not only doing your duties but care and Love them they will saw you more Love and will be more open towards you. If you love them as family they will treat you as family member and will even be ready to die defending you.
Arunachal has no state board of education it is all managed under central i.e cbse and a lot of Kendriya Vidyalaya, VKV etc. Hence the super good Hindi
