WillProd it really is though😂 and i'm going to be studying law! gonna learn mostly scots law since my uni is in scotland, but i'm also gonna try and take english law courses :) i dont know what area i'd like to specialize in though, i'm interested in pretty much all areas😂 so i guess i'll figure that out in the next year hopefully haha

SkyCobra book wise i only used my 5 textbooks that we were told to get, but i also watched a lot of documentaries from youtube when reviewing :) especially cold war documentaries, there's a really good series by bbc here on youtube.

thanks!! good luck with that history! it's lots of work but it was hands down my favourite IB subject 😚 i'm not sure if i'm able to give advice, as the history syllabus has changed and i'm not sure about how it has changed. but advice that should work for any history syllabus is to make huge timelines!! they helped me know my dates well, especially as my paper 2 books were not in chronological order... don't overlook small details that are written in the book, because implementing small relevant knowledge here and there into your exam essays is what makes your essay stand out from the rest (this is what my teacher told us). also, a very important thing is to learn historiography!! some in my class never used historiography in their essays, but it's required in order to achieve a mark in the higher band. for finals, i made a list of different historians and their claims about different topics, and then i would try evaluating them like i would in a paper 2 or 3 essay. 🤓

i struggled with econ so bad too, i honestly thought i was gonna get a 3 or 4 😂 the book we used was the one by blink&dorton, and it was the only book we used so i can't really comment on that! i've heard that the oxford ib econ study guide was good, i also had it but ordered it too late so i didnt use it 😁 also what helped me was khan academy videos 😂 there's econ videos for like every chapter for the book i used and they helped me a lot when i didn't understand stuff in class :)

I think you should use the Blink & Dorton book, I basically memorised it and got a 7! Don't worry the examiners are much more lenient than we think they are :)

Hey, well I don't know yet I mean I haven't started with it but I will hopefully complete it this month, My topic is about the women rights in pakistan I'll write about a role model who fought for the education for girls in pakistan. My teacher approved my topic and since I am a pakistani this stuff really interests me. So my tip is go for something you know alot about or can take help with the knowledge of your parents, relatives take primary sources!! And something that definately interests you of course. I actually already handed in my first draft and waiting to get it back atm, I wrote about the role of bravery amongst the civilians during the Mühlviertler Hasenjagd (if you're into history you should google it, it's soooo interesting) and that is also regional history (since i live in the Mühlviertl in Austria)… but what I'n really confused about is the structure? you start off with an analysis of two sources. then you need to write an introduction, main body with arguments and conclusion for part two to answer your research question within like 1200 words and then you reflect on historic research itself??? it just doesn't go together and makes no sense to me, it's almost like 3 completely fifferent tasks (source analysis, essay writing, argumentation on research in history - more TOK-esque I'd say) but yeah that's why im so confused Also good luck to you!!! :) x

ah okay well I have the actual IB history textbook so I don't know if you guys use it but at the end there is like a guide where they explain you in detail about the IA . So I can't tell a lot about tthat since I am just gonna start with the IA this week. Ah cool yeah I go to a german school so hasenjagd literally means rabbit hunting if you take it literally well haven't heard abt that yet but sounds interesting also my whole history ib exam will be in german. I'm an billingual Ib student k bye I need to study now hehe

Asmah Ahmed oh we only have the IB text books in history for individual topics (Cold War, Apratheid etc) Yes it means rabbit hunt and it's such a dark event in history (it's about Austrian civilians hunting down prisoners that broke out of the concentration camp in Mauthausen during the Holocaust) oh that's sooo cool!!! i didn't know the IB courses could be taught in another language besides English?! 😱 I'm German A lit hl, but apart from that all my courses are in English…

may results are released in july, the date depends where you live. and yes it takes two months because the ib exams done all around the world are first sent to England before they are sent to the examiners. and then of course it takes the examiners some time to go through all the exams, so i'm actually surprised they're able to give out results within 2 months 😂

Basically in IB you are scored out of a possible 45 I total, everything you do, all the tests for the last two years of school add up to your total number. You chose 6 subjects three higher level and three standard. On top of all that you have to do things like C.A.S (creativity, action,service) you also have to do extended essays( not sure how many though) I believe their around 4000 words and you have to do indepth research with numerous amounts of evidence. You also have to take a class called TOK( theory of knowledge) I honestly have no idea what is taught in this this class. MYP is a system taught through year 10-11, don't know much about it though. That's about all I know, I'm just about to start my first year of IB! So please correct me if any of the information I have is wrong!

IB is the International Baccalaureate which is an education curriculum with different programs. The "IB" as most people call it is actually technically DP, the diploma program, for grades 11-12. However, there are other programs in the IB, like MYP, the middle years program, that is for grades 6-10. But the MYP isn't really that popular so when people say IB, they most usually refer to DP.

At my school we've been doing MYP since y7-y11 and honestly I still don't know for what I can use it for, I find it very useless. Personally, the only thing I learnt from the MYP (middle years program) was how to do projects that's all. At the end of y11, last year we have to take the e-assessment exams which are online exams, I had to take English, Spanish, History, Maths, Intergrated science and another one that was a mix of all. We also had to do an e-portfolio that in my case was a web talking about my city, main tourist attractions and that stuff and a personal project, where you can choose a topic and you have to create something, in my case I chose to do it about the brain and made a magazine about the way our brain functions. Now I'm in y12 (I study in an English school in Spain) and I'm taking the Spanish national baccalaureate but the school also offers IB (international baccalaureate). In the IB you get to choose 6 subjects, 3 high level and 3 standard. You have to do a monography(I believe that's how it's called) which is just an investigation project, you have CAS hours (creativity, action and service) and the TOK(theory of knowledge) I have this and still don't know what it it's. So to conclude, I take the Spanish national baccalaureate but I do this three last things I've mentioned from the IB too.

i study law! and tbh our teachers didn't really recommend much regarding our subject choices, but i just went ahead and looked at the uni requirements myself. the most important thing in the ib is to take subjects you enjoy so that you can get the most out of it. :)
