"pick a good ib school" LOLOL there is one school in this region that does ib. it's, like, sad... there are 7 diploma students in my grade, we get almost NO choice in what classes we take it you're in diploma, and the rest of the kids in our school think we're snobby:(
Being beautiful + being intelligent (which is credible seeing as you got 42 points) is a pretty lucky thing. Embrace it. 3 months into the IB got me like #WhereIsTheBleach
Okay, can I just say, I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS VIDEO. I was procrastinating my IA (lol the irony) and I looked up IB program on RU-vid and found this video. From the moment you started talking, I could just tell how well-educated you are and what a difference it makes in your character as compared to other gurus on RU-vid. I try really hard to be optimistic about the IB, but honestly only IB people understand the pain and the toll it has on your life. I'm so glad I watched this though, it definitely encouraged me to keep pushing and take initiative for my education. I'm nearing the end of year 11 and watching the seniors take their exams is just so frightening, knowing that I'm next. Please post more tips about the IB and other little life hacks, etc. There's not enough of them on the internet and we probably have the biggest network!!
+Geneve Lau Wow thank you so much! Your positive feedback really means the world :) I will definitely think about other IB videos I can make- any ideas? Good luck with the IB! ;) xx
This video made me so happy. I started following you because you are vegan and then I saw this video and I was so excited to know that you have gone through what I am (attempting) right now! These are great tips :)
+Chanel Oberline Actually I got a 43 and it's actually not that hard. I can help you if you want. I'm taking a gap year so I'm pretty bored anyway. I've all the notes, I can tutor you one on one if you want, I've the question banks, past papers, everything, really. I can send you sample answers, I can give you quick review questions. Just lemme know ? Email me- wannacrackib@gmail.com
You make IB sound like something nice and almost fun lol. Thank you very much for the tips (especially the one on study guides, i think i'll give it a try) they seem really helpful!
Thanks so much for making this video. I'm feeling kind of lost, like I'm not progressing or doing what I need to be doing. I think this will help me get back on track to do well with my IA, EE, CAS and my May exams next year.
this is so helpful thank you!! i'm so nervous to go into the last year of IB and wow it's nice to hear that it's normal to be stressed to cry etc... thank you thank you
I'm really not having a fun time in IB right now so this was really helpful and motivating! I'm in IB2 so I'm (sort of) close to finishing. It's definitely a stressful time but I've learned so much from IB not only academically but also just about perseverance and time management :) thanks for these tips!
You're amazing! I'm from Poland and right now I'm in the pre-IB class. This video made me sooo motivated and happy ;) You have great attitude to this whole IB thing. Many my friend are (even right now) so stressed about this system. After watching this video I feel that this isn't as hard as they say :D Thank you so much
Every time I feel like no I can't do it any more I just wanna be lazy, then I will come to your video and watch every details again! Really powerful video really useful to me and it just motivate me sooooooo much!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I swear I needed this. Your tips are amazing and the video is really motivating. I just finished my first semester in IB and it's been a nightmare. An interesting one but still a nightmare. I hope next semester will go better :P
That is a great video!!:) I am currently at the last year of the IB, but dont have very good predicted results unfortunately, so I am very stressed out about my uni applications, but this video gave me the motivation to study:) HUGE THANK YOU!!
Going to UWC Maastricht :) So I'm going to start the 2 years of the IB on september ! So excited (and a bit scared tbh). Thanks for your amazing video, you're so cute and it's so pleasant to hear you talk !
Congrats on your 42! That's amazing. I am going to start my IB soon this year and I wanted you to tell me some tips on English Language & Literature HL
fantastic video:D especially the first tip!! Our school is doing the IB since 3 years, which is nothing... There is no experience, but yeah, I'm already in the second year, so just make the best out of it:D
I'm not an IB student anymore (I was in the MYP from years 7-10, and am now doing VCE), but this advice is really helpful for all senior programs. Thanks for creating this video 😊
I'm actually looking for English LangLit FOA ideas on youtube and it took me to your video (IB increase the rate of your procrastination as well) I just want to say THANK YOU JANINE I really needed those tips.
+Rosa Tomlinson Got a 23 in my first FOA, tell me if you need help. My friend got a 27. We did Langlit HL. Tell me if you need help. Email- wannacrackib@gmail.com

Thank you so so so much for this video!! I'm in grade 11 and I just started Year 1 IB here in Canada so this is a huge help! Love you and your videos!! ❤😘
Thank you for making this video now i can get 42 without reading in just 15 minutes. It really helped me getting 42 (adding all semester grades). if u don't believe then feel free to mail me.
Getting 40+ is not difficult. Some average ib scores of some schools in Hong Kong can be up to 38-40. The average ib score of HKU medicine is around 43-44, and for HKU architecture 40-41. Most students in Hong Kong choose to study the ibdp curriculum because they think that it is much easier than the local HKDSE curriculum.
Well, I'm a grade 12 student, I guess it's really late to me to see this powerful video, it's really helpful and encourage me a lot, I know its late to say this, but I will just do it, just for making myself better! Keep working!
I really liked the tip about being passionate about the subjects (Even if you are faking it in the beginning ahaha) I am definitely going to change my attitude towards my subject now. Great video!
I can relate to you a lot! I really want to do architecture in the future but chose to do film (which I loved and had a 7). My first predicted grade was a 37 (should I have 3 bonus points), right after I switched to Art (I had no final piece from the required 3 at the time, so I achieved a 3). I switched to art in order to do architecture and kept having to do late work and am slowly catching up (but seems like forever). I had a 3 in Art AGAIN for doing only three pieces when I should've done five, and had a predicted grade sheet of 29 for the end of second half of the term/semester, averaging a 33. I used to hate maths too and was mediocre at it but once I moved to studies I began loving the class (mostly since I felt more comfortable) and after my end of term exam I took a 7. My school isn't as good as those in Europe since I live in Brazil, but its the best in the country with an average of 35. I really want to just drop everything here and live in Europe during year 12 since my family has the conditions and this might improve my education, and I am planning to do uni in Europe anyways.
Hi, this is the first video that I watched on your channel, it does help me a lot. In this few days, I am deciding weather I am going to study in IB or VCE, I transfer to another school from Hong Kong to Australia in this year. Also, in this school they didn't get many choices in IB program, so I am considering about going back to my previous school in Hong Kong now. Although I am not good at studying and I might not get a good result in my final assessment, still I want to try my best to study in this program, I don't know why I just feel that I want to. In your video, I feel like the result is important however the process of how you get the result is much more important. thank you so much
My school doesn’t give you a choice, they make 7 “groups” and you pick what fits you better. This is because my national education programme makes you have certain subjects to get into public uni (90% of students go tu public uni, it’s free and it has more value than private ones). I chose the “economy” orientation, so now I’m stuck with high level history.
Dear Friend, I am so impressed by all the tips you presented for teenagers, cause they are all principles of having successfull life and career throughout life and useful even for me at 34 searching for job. I wish I knew these stuff at your age!!! Good luck and all the best
I have just started my first year of ib. I'm not in the best mood cause my school doesn't seem to be properly prepared :/ Although, I will keep your words in my head because I think this are really great tips :)
I'm a sophomore and currently deciding whether I should do the IB program. These are the classes I would take. HL: English (I'd take it 11th and 12th) European History (12th) Biology (taking SL in 11th, HL in 12th) SL: 1. Chinese (12th) 2. Music (11th) 3. Either SL Calc (11th) but if I take AP Calc then I'd do Business and Management
Please let me know if you have any advice for those classes. I'm not sure if I should take AP AB Calc next year or IB-SL. Does anyone know which is harder?
thanks alot for making this video....i am a first year and i have the subjects that u had so this one really made me happy. its soooo hard but i hope i can go through this :)
Those advices sounds helpful, and rather practical, thank you so much :). However I still feel quite nervous about starting my pre-IB classes next semester, since many older students complain that they keep working till 12 'o clock in the evening in the 11th grade :-/ (p.s. I'm a 14 year old in Shanghai, China)
I am not an ib student but I want to be . because everyone says ib sucks blah blah but you made me clear that : if I study I can do this. tahnk you 😊💕💕 sorry about bad english 😊
Honestly, I would not say that the IB school is an important factor. It all comes down to how much time and work you invest into the diploma, not on how well your school performs. Each school has the people that don't do shit no matter how well the school does and they get the same marks as the school doing worse and vice versa. It all comes down to your own motivation and effort. (HL Chemistry, Biology and English B, SL Maths, Economics and Lat Literature here; state IB school in Latvia)
well done on your IB! my school is not experienced in IB and i feel like crying sometimes. i sit exams in May. btw the quality of your video is very good, what camera do you use?
Hey Janine, nice video! :) May I ask what you did after you finished the IB, are you at uni now and if so what uni and what are you studying? I did the IB as well and I find it really heard to decide on what to study at uni as the IB provides and opens so many opportunities. I would love to hear how you knew what you wanted to do with your life after the IB?
+Stefanie Callista well what I mean is that there are not enough choices at my school, like the only choices I have are another foreign language, economics and art. And for the sciences , we can only choose bio or chem. Like that is not alot of choices for me.
Same for me, it sucks because it is the best IB school in my country, yet we are only allowed to take sciences and math SL and English Literature and Spanish literature HL.
So i will be taking the IB this May. I honestly have no idea how to study for chemistry and math since they are my worst subjects!! I loved your tips but i really feel like it is so much and i can't take it. IB is hell
