I'm not familiar with the Ibanez line, so I don't know which guitar belongs to what series, but, to me, the one with the woodgrain top sounded much nicer. It had clearer midrange, better note definition, and a sparkle to the top end that was missing on the sunburst guitar.
The prestige is darker. For fast lead playing with the neck pickup I prefer the premium or 80s rythim. I'd pick the prestige for more heavy bases or solos less shreddy.
The premium doesn't have more upper mids as some are claiming, in my "humble opinion" it is actually missing lower mids and bass instead (could just be that one premium, or could be cost to quality idk)!! Listen to the tracks again, and in isolation you can hear it lacks the fullness on the low end. The prestige is not lacking high mids, but it also has low mids and bass to accompany the high-mids a treble!! These pickups may not be for me. But that prestige is making me want an Ibanez.
So which is which? I felt both guitars were great, the roasted maple one had a slightly higher end ˋvoice‘ to my ears and was more balanced. I‘d pick that one and guess that was the prestige Great session guitar sound imo
