The PRS has the more "dark brown round " sound , The Ibanez is the more bright sound , with a higher thinner pitch , both beautiful in their own way but indeed very different , it is all about personal preference I guess ..................
Thank you for this comparison! I'm a huge JM fan and PRS tiny endorser. But AZES specwise is 95% of what I want from a modern superstrat with older guitar vibes. I have to try it myself!
Gorgeous guitar and great playing. i'm keeping an eye out on reverb for one of these. i already have the '72 thinline and deluxe, so i'm getting closer to getting the full set. :)
Kevin - you definitely won't regret grabbing the 69 Tele, I've had mine for close to ten years and it's my go to guitar for both live and studio situations. Thing stays in tune like a champ, damn near as good as an American Tele consodering it's like half the price!!!
If you lisen for each pick up comparison, PRS SE Silversky sound and tone is more solid, warm and has good sustain. One thing also, bridge is single on Silversky SE, and hambucker on AZES. Maybe it will be more fair comparison if we compare with AZ premium series. not AZ essential series
If you're in the market for an amazing cheap Ibanez, get the AZ ES40. I got one and it's really impressive. I just looked online and as of today, the PRS is about £860, the Ibanez is around £270.
