I purchased this exact guitar from GC. I must say that being a Gibson/Fender player it was very easy to acclimate to. The DiMarzio Pickup's are amazing. The build quality is quite good. "Made in China" - a real turn off. Ibanez should be making these in Japan. I ended up returning it in the end because it was a little too radical for me. Definitely worth checking out and it really is a very good guitar.

I wish Ibanez reissue the Destroyer that Phil Collen played in the 80's.That was an amazing and cool looking guitar

I have an 83 destroyer with triple humbuckers and pickups are wired out of phase and the middle knob controls the phase manually. It’s so good 😊

Fantastic review and great chops as well, I just picked this bad boy up brand new at my local Sam Ash here in the states for $420.00 out the door and let me tell you guys it is by far the best guitar at that price point I have ever played or owned. Frankly it sounds,plays and feels like a guitar in the $1000.00 range. Since I brought it home I havn't even looked at any of my other guitars and that's a ballsey statement as I own esp,dean,charvel, and gibson guitars as well. I do t think there are many of these around so if you see one.....pull the trigger, you will be glad you did🔫

Have an all original 1982 Destroyer II, made in Japan, absolute beast of a fucking guitar, just got it yesterday for $550!!!!!

First off, here's the 'Cliff Notes' Review. This guitar f-cking rocks. Lightweight with the most versatile palette of tones I have ever heard in one guitar. BUY IT. Now for the long-winded 'Politician on the Campaign Trail' Review... Cosmetically this is one the prettiest guitars I have ever seen. It is amazingly light as well. I'm a shrimp (5'9" & 125 lbs) and don't enjoy anvil weight guitars. The body is basically a massive mahogany plank and has amazing resonance and sustain. The flame maple top may be just a veneer, which is fine with me - I prefer mahogany tops. The DiMarzio pups are first rate. I prefer to keep the selector switch in the middle position and adjust the sound using the knobs. 'Versatile' is truly an understatement - you could play jazz or shred metal depending on the pedals used. The clean sound is superb but add an MXR Distortion+ (preferred pedal of St. Randy Rhoads) and you have a wailing beast of a guitar. The neck profile is great if you have small hands (like me). The fretboard is nicely dressed as well and the guitar responds wonderfully to even the slightest of finger vibrato techniques. There is no "neck dive" and you can get an amazing "bending up" effect by slightly pulling the neck back with the fretting hand. The hardware is high quality and the finishing details (body binding, etc) is top notch. I am hugely impressed with the quality of this Chinese made geetar. (When I first started playing in 1979, the Chinese made guitars were best suited for an encore where smashing your gear was the 'Big Finale' to a show.) If there is a drawback to this beauty then it is the hardshell case which is rather huge but has a gorgeous royal blue lining. It reminds me of the flightdeck of my former part-time home, the USS Constellation. But don't be cheap and stupid and buy a gig bag - this guitar merits the Ibanez case (even if it does comes with its' own ZIP code). Oh, and don't forget the Dunlop Dual Design Strap Locks! I have four Les Pauls (two Gibsons, two Epis), a Strat and a Tele and they are all very lonely now that "Marie" has come into the family. [I named her "Marie" after the Elvis song 'Marie's The Name (Of His Latest Flame)'. And for those of you in Rio Linda - that's a pun - "flame maple top", geddit?] In closing I will employ the reliable and time-tested Jedi mind trick; "You want this guitar. It's the guitar you've been looking for". MAY THE SCHWARTZ BE WITH YOU.

I have that Exact guitar here & it is Super in every way. It gets played through Marshall JCM900 with Boss pedals & it screams !

If they did a japan or korea model I might came back for a look.. The one I saw in the shop had a knob put in on an angle and uneven binding.

Just bought an Ibanez RC320. Perhaps this guitar is in my future. Love it!

This guy is AWESOME! I am a crazy fan of the Tone Zone and I think it is the best pickup in existence (for harmonics, mids "aw" vowel sound, and articulation). But it really sounds at its best in a basswood bodied guitar.

Why is it that every one of these I've seen has chrome hardware? Mine has gold and it's the only one I've seen like that. I normally prefer chrome but for some reason I really love the gold on mine.

This guitar had me.....right up until he described the thicker neck-I’m out. It’s a real shame, although most may prefer it, I just prefer a more comfortable neck profile. Other than that, love the guitar.
