I was just at Grand Memories next door the first week of December, I came over to use your guys' volleyball net every day as Grand Memories didn't have one lol. If you walk 2 km west down the beach you hit a little turn at the Paradisus resort, that's the best beach area! Amazing sunset views as well from there!
@@pearly719 I was at the sanctuary. We had eggs every morning, but the grand memories only had eggs a few days. The food was what you expect for Cuba. I'm not a picky eater and I got by just fine
Testing the toilet haha, it almost seems like you went to the Memories Flamenco Beach Resort in Cayo Coco. No water pressure, no flushing toilets, no wine at all (unless you pay for it), no eggs some morning and the list goes on and on... but strangely we still enjoyed our week lol. Must be the 10/10 beach
Another great video. Your honesty regarding the "ebbs and flows" is good to get across to people. Its realistic that there will be minor shortages and inconveniences from time to time.
Hola Mike, nice to see you made it to Varadero after we met up in Cayo Santa Maria. Like yourself I haven't returned back to the Varadero area for several years because we keep choosing Cayo Santa Maria or Cayo Coco areas. Hope to get back there in 2025..but beaches in Cayo Santa Maria or Cayo Coco are a step up imo. *had a question mi amigo...have you ever been to Jibacoa? ..the area is fantastic to snorkel and I know you and your wife are fans 🥽
We were on the same flight with Air Transat back to Toronto last week. I was sitting in the row just behind you and recognized you by the Finding Fish Hoodie. Missed being able to talk to you, love all your videos!!!
Our air conditioning didn’t work. Our bathroom sink broke. Cockroaches in the buffet. Got sick. Half the beach was closed. Half the pool was closed. The Japanese gave me diarrhea. But the staff are incredibly friendly.
Another great video. I'm surprised how busy it was. Maybe because of the price? Did you find that most of the wine was Spanish and very good? PS. It's snowing here (Mississauga ) today. 😢
We will be visiting in a couple of months and I have continued reading reviews, which all so varied one would think they are describing at least 2 different resorts. They range from "oh my God this place is awful, with dirty sheets and towels, cockroaches, and terrible rooms" to "oh my God, this place is great. So clean and comfy!" The one constant is that the food is mediocre at best. So, I am a bit apprehensive. We rarely take vacations, and almost never all-inclusive ones, so I really don't want to be disappointed. Your review is pretty recent though, so I am hoping that this indicates that the resort has improved recently.
My Room was dated as per my video but cleaned every day!!! And my made was good!!! Pools were under construction but might be done by now!!! They also had other pools open!!! Good beach, Good lobby bar!!! Buffet was busy!!! But I made the video and that’s pretty much what you’ll get!!! Can’t believe everyone!!! Some people should never travel to Cuba!!! Go in with low expectations and enjoy

Ive been hearing a lot of people saying to avoid cuba recently which is really unfortunate because i really love it there. Im hoping you can shed some light on this for me, is it dangerous? Ive heard the shortages are causing locals to rob tourists. I wouldnt think twice to book a trip for my wife and but im not sure about bringing the kids if the shortages are that bad. I just spent a fortune on a trip to mexico and the prices for cuba are very attractive.
Petty theft is everywhere so one needs to keep an eye on possessions. I did read a report that theft has increased even against the Cubans let alone the tourists. It used to be a snitch society so local theft would be handled quickly. The young talented people are leaving Cuba and there is a society breakdown. However, I've found it safe in Cuba over the past years.
