Another amazing video! Spoken like a homie from around the way and not some privileged entitled tourist. The time you took to edit this must have been extensive. Very much appreciated. I’ve been to both. Varadero I find too commercial and very much over populated by visitors but that long beach is perfect for daily walks. And cause it’s less separated from the mainland I have always found less supply issues when it comes to food and pop. Cayo Coco’s beach is so much nicer and the beach is floury soft. But food selection and supply often an issue. Cayo Santa Maria is my fav though and hope you add this part to your next mega comparison. Playa Cayo Santa Maria Resort is my fav of all the Cuban resorts minus the exclusive adult only isolated section of Ibeostar Ensenachos that you walked through. Those accommodations were fabulous. Getting that whole villa with kitchen and hot tub was wow! Even had a private meal cooked by a chef in our villa one night. But getting back to Santa Maria I hope you review Royalton one day. One resort I still need to visit but always so pricey compared to all others. Have a great day from VanCity!
Well Said 💯 percent!!! For the traveler that likes busy, Varadero 101 coming your way!!! Low Key and pristine beaches!!’n Coyo coco!!! Absolutely!!! Editing this Video!!!20 hours plus, All my footage!!! Thanks for mentioning it!!! Your spot on 100 💯 percent!!!!!!! Royalton Santa Maria is on the List!!!!! About everything you mentioned!!!!! Mike
Love the video Mike! Thanks. We've been to both places as well. Just one note, Newfoundland is not a part of the Maritimes. They only include 3 provinces. Please keep up the fantastic work
@@Finding-Fish that's not a problem at all!! The reason Newfoundland is not considered a part of the Maritimes is that Newfoundland joined Canada in 1949. Prior to that, we were a separate country 😊
Cayo Coco , adults only , the best! If you are 50+ ,you will not be disappointed! Thank you " Finding fish" for all you tips ! We will be in Cayo Coco Caribe in a week , its our second time and we loved this little paradise, thanks to you! ❤
Great video Mike. As soon as i saw your notification about this video I told my wife let's grab a coffee and look at video. We love Cuba also and most likely will book a Cayo Coco trip next Jan -Feb timeframe. How about Meliá Cayo Coco? Have you visited there before? We have and i was just wondering how everything is currently there. Great video again. Cheers Peter
Hey Peter Jenny and I were at the Melia like 10 years or more ago so I can’t really comment because it was so long ago!!! But I always hear great things about it!!! Thanks for supporting me!!! Mike
Personally I find US Dollars are far more appreciated than Canadian. One, Two's for tips. If you want an upgrade? Ten should help if they say no? okay keep the ten. LOL. Look tipping in Cuba is just a form of travel insurance really, just helps to make your stay far more pleasant. Mike Rocks
Great video Mike! I’m happy you touched on the topic of the difference between men vs women solo travelling. There’s definitely some risk factors and experiences with locals. I also agree it depends on the individual and what type of experience they’re seeking while away.
Thanks for the great video Mike!! That's an interesting comparison. There are quite a few differences but I think I like the not so busy Cayo Coco. Take care and safe travels.
Absolutely on the List!!! I’m at the Grand Memories (Sanctuary) Right now making videos but I will head there this Fall Thank Victoria for watching Mike
@@Finding-Fish so jealous! This video has convinced me I am an island girl. I was already pretty sure but this helped me stop wondering whether I should try a Varadero trip. My sister and I traveled together and felt very safe. We met a couple ladies traveling solo, also felt very safe.
Hey Mike, I enjoy your videos a lot. I'm also 53 and I'm now completely focused on doing the things i love with the people I'm close to. I don't fuss over the news, work or any other of these things. I focus on what's important for me and make every day count. Traveling south makes me happy and i get to go 3 times a year. I get a lot of positive vibes from your content and i think that your at the same place I'm at. Keep it up budy. Thanks for sharing man...
Thanks so Much!!! I always appreciate feedback and comments!!! Good for you for your outlook, Life is short!!! I’m down in Varadero right now!!! Thank for watching and supporting me!!! Enjoy your day and the beach is waiting for you!!! Mike
The same one you recommended last year. "Memories Flamenco" We had no water for almost half day and the Diamond Club sorry to tell you is a joke. Nobody cared to be completely honest with you
Hello! New sub here! I’m wondering if you can let me know which you prefer between Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria and Memories Caribe! I’ve been to the Sanctuary in Santa Maria in the past, but this beach seems comparable and the resort overall looks very nice. My sister and I are travelling to Cuba in a couple of weeks and I’m torn between the two!
Thanks for subbing! both have stunning beaches!!!! Thats a Hard One I'm currently at Sanctuary Grand Memories Varadero. this one is beautiful too. But the beach is not as good as those 2 beaches. I think there will be a better breeze at Sanctuary Santa Maria. Because its hot here... better breeze less flys and bugs. good luck Mike
@@Finding-Fish thank you! How is the weather? Forecast is showing tons of rain and thunderstorms but I know a lot of the time it’s a quick downpour and then sunshine during the day, or a storm overnight which I don’t mind at all. Last time I was at Sanctuary Santa Maria we had access to Grand Memories and Paraiso…I didn’t realize that was no longer the case. Grand Memories is where we went for entertainment at the theatre, went to the larger buffet for meals, etc. Do you think Caribe would be a more lively option for two early 30-something year olds? Again, thank you so much for the reply!
I gess you are a control freak. And it is fine. When I go to Cuba, I bring clothes I Don't wear anymore. Phone goes in the safe and I change the code every 2 days. No jewels, since I am a always in the Ocean and Don't want to attract fish. I bring remnant of perfume, a couple, more for my room than wearing it. Bugs love me and permume make it worse. When I leave, almost everything exept underwear, shoes and bathing wear stays in Cuba. Sunscreen, Tylenol, all non prescribe meds go to gardeners. In fact most of my stuff is given to gardeners.
My husband and I went to Lenny's Lobster Shack. Best meal we had in Cayo Coco. However, we took a cab over. Our resort was too far to walk. Well worth the trip to Lenny's
Most uneducated people complain. Go to cuba since 1991 and I can tell you most of those who wrote comments on Monarc or other social media are complaining about toilet paper and lack of sodas, ketchup, and so on. Nous savons tous que cette situation perdure depuis des décennies. Vous êtes très poli avec vos auditeurs. Mais je sens bien votre exaspération.
Hi Mike I absolutely love your channel. You have a great attitude and your videos are always informative and entertaining. We are planning a trip to Cuba in August and can’t decide between Iberostar Selection Ensenachos and Diamond Club at Memories Flamenco. Both are the same price. I’ve seen your videos on both resorts and they both e tick all our boxes. Not sure if you have any insight otherwise it might come down to a coin flip. Cheers!
I believe that Flamenco might be working on the Buffet so it’s out of Order, means it’s just in another location!!! Great Beach at Flamenco, it’s in need of a few repairs to the resort, Paint clean up, maintenance!!! Ensenachos!!’ Big resort, I would stay in the Spa side!!! Great beach, I had a good room!’ Resort probably needs some maintenance!! But with all that I would say Ensenachos!!! Hopefully it’s still good as per my last visit!!! But for the price!!! Probably a good deal
Awesome place! We were there in March 2024 and had so many great moments, beaches, old car rides either top down to the Marketo, and very friendly ppl !!
Deals are now!!! When it comes to July, prices may go up closer you get or will sell out!!! Once the plane is full the deal is done!!!! Remember that!!! It’s low season and planes are still filling up I’m in Varadero right now and the plane is Full
The fact you can get 28 day packages for under $2500 is amazing to me. Folks could easily live/retire down there for less than is cost to live in Canada. I’m sure seasonal 90 day deals will one day become a thing down there.
Interesting share Mike. I hope you don’t take what I’m about to write in any negative way, because it’s not meant to be. you are one lucky man, to have found a wonderful woman/BF, who allows you to have the freedom to do what you love. She’s a keeper. Cheers!! Don’t stop making these videos, wealth of info.
Maralup!!! Thanks you for your comment!!! Your Totally Correct!!! I am so fortunate to have Jenny!!! She allows me to search out my Dream!!! She wants me to succeed!!! She want to be part of it when she’s Retired!!! She my cheerleader!!! And I also need her. Thanks for your support Maralup Mike
