Local 46 has a fantastic organizing dept. I worked out of local 46 in the early 90's was treated very well be the Local folks as well as employers. Seattle has a very good defined benefits pension plan as well. Please inform me of any So-Called "Open Shop" has that benefit?
The object here is a matter of workplace discrimination. Employer sponsored, State approved, discrimination. On each jobsite there is the OSHA poster that explains workers' rights - been looking at it for about 40 years. The employer should not be allowed to say that they like this guy, so he gets medical treatment after injury, but we don't know the other guy, so we're going to screw him over as hard as we can. Just because we can. And Approach Management's blog shows several violations of workers' rights that they use for the benefit of the company. One of them is dragging the claim out until hell freezes over causing undue hardship. An injured worker has a right to expediency and not to be left a cripple for life at somebodies' whim. And this practice is State approved. And the union does not stand up for the brotherhood if you are injured on the job. Just sayin. Now that I am crippled for life. Thank you Prime Electric.
Pretty confused as to why there are so many undertones of "us vs. them" or "pick a side" in this video. That's not very productive. Electricians everywhere need to be helping each other excel.
