Got my Lumix S5 II for the first time after being a loyal user of Sony and Fuji for the past few years. I must say, the S5 II has blown my mind. I paired it with a Canon EF lens, and the results were also very impressive.
Great IBIS Test! Exactly what I wanted to see, it's great to see these cameras side by side. Started with A7R2, I could never get any usable handheld video footage. So excited about my new S5IIx. Just wished there are more videos out there comparing the IBIS (and AF-C which supposedly work on MC-21) with EF lens on different adapters. Hope LUMIX will actually consider supporting Dual I.S.2 on more lens (and adapters) to secure their dominance on their IS before others catch up. At least their Boost I.S seem to compete well with Sony's new Dynamic Active. Would be cool for LUMIX to give us Framing Stabilization too.
I was about to buy a Canon or Sony (for their AF). thanks to this clip I am actually going for S5ii as I just realized that Ibis is just as important as Auto focus. S5ii has both. easy choice. Thanks for this demo.
Promising, the next Lumix GH camera will be perfect with top class IBIS and leading autofocus. Panasonic, please give us a firmware update for Realtime LUT for GH6.
hey Zak, at the moment i do have a long time loan from Panasonic so will be using it until they take it back. But when they do that, i will also seriously consider getting one.
Panasonic is providing a s5ii sample and some lenses as long time loan. They can ask us to return them anytime and we definitely can't sell them and make money from it
As a Nikon pro body user I have to admit the Panasonic bodies noise and dynamic range has always been great… I wonder if the Nikon f lense to Panasonic adaptor would affect performance ?
Lumix has really nailed it with their image stabilization. I know gimbals have their place, but there’s a real benefit to not having to rig your camera out just to get a steady shot. I always get people asking what gimbal I use or what stabilizer I use in post. “Straight out of camera” 🫳🏻🎤
