Sorry if I missed it in the video, but it should be noted that it also has a jack on the side for remote tuning trigger. Additionally, if you have a compatible device, that jack is also used for receiving band data. If you switch bands and tune, then you can just send only the band next time and it will snap back into its previous tuned state for that band, rather than having to transmit a carrier and tune all over again.
What a great little ATU. The problem is, Elecraft can't get parts needed to build them at this time. I've been waiting for almost 6 months and there's no light at the end of the tunnel. I did purchase an LDG ATU but I am not happy with it. The main issues I have with it are: 1. Size 2. They use SO 239 connectors 3. Super slow to tune. Good video, thanks for posting, Barry, KU3X
Hi Peter I think you ought to do a video on how to waterproof a Sirio 4 meter antenna, there the most un waterproof antennas there are apparently, there like an enclosed J pole, from Fred g4vvq.
Great vids. Question I do have concerning the 705. The BNC connector on the radio itself, is it male or female? Im going to order a length of coax to carry in the backpack and I need to know what bnc to have installed on the coax end, male or female? Thx in advance, and thx for the vids.
Great video. How far out will it tune. 3:1, 5:1, 10:1 etc? Only asking as I have the KX3 with the building in ATU and wondering if this would still be worthwhile to have in my kit. Tanks again for the great videos. JJK
Hi John, I would have thought that the ATU in the KX3 is very very similar to this . The one in my KX3 is superb and my pal uses one of these and they seem very familiar. 73 Mike
