I saw this before and really impressed with her but seeing it again I see that koreans are amazed by people who can sing high notes like they are wow for them but in my country its really common to sing like this and you get tired.

Mina Yeah there are 7 different contestant every week.. the guest (korean singer) will choose 1 contestant to be singing with them at the end of the show.. regards, they will be 2 - 3 tone deaf contestant.. they need to carefully choose every single one of them.. the host will give small 'hint' in every segment.. but it's hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂..

Most variety shows in Korea are scripted to be like that.. they want them to overreact.. and since she is a comedian her job is to be funny .. For us, we may like it to be more natural but honestly asian cultures tend to over react .. and plus this show is supposed to surprise the audience.. the panelists are there for a reason.. to react and also predict whether they are tone deaf or not .. and plus I really don't like how you described her as the "fat" one .. she isn't fat and also pretty fit.. she can pretty much dance her ass off better than a lot of people..
but that's what everybody's doing in korea's variety shows, they have to "overact" their reactions or else their part will not be shown on TV, and more TV exposure means more guesting opportunities, even on award shows, idols act as if they're are sooo into performances of other idols when there's a cameraman in front of them, am not saying that they're not genuinely enjoying it, they're just trying to exaggerate their actions, notice it from fancams.
It's because "Tears" is an extremely hard song that singers RARELY can pull off, many singers try to sing this as a parody because it's funny (since it's so difficult and they can't reach the notes) So when the song started playing, they were convinced she was tone-deaf because of her choice of song, they expected a funny performance from her
What's impressive about her singing is not that it's particularly high (cause it's not) It's that her tone is so pure and her pitch is darn near perfect. I've heard a lot of people who can sing higher but sacrifice those two very important skills in the process.

I think it's kinda fun and entertaining when people look down on the contestants when they preparing to sing. This is basically the point of the entire show. Surprise us audience. It would be boring if they know she could sing from the beginning and just sat there. This show would be boring,

So late, but she slayed the hell out of the tone deaf panelist. Seriously, even some artists struggle to sing the song( I think Solji sang it?) Not quite sure, but this girl was so awesome, singing it so effortlessly. She proved them all wrong, especially Gookju. Sometimes Gookju is just too much that it's annoying. She and Sae Ho are the most annoying one in the industry, they're not even funny. Either way this girl did great!
I think thats the point of the show. To guess who can or can't sing, few times those they guessed can sing were terrible and a few other times (like now) those they guessed can't killed it😊😊.

It was because everyone thought she couldn't sing and tears is a wicked hard song. Thats why everyone was so surprised when she sang so well. If she was one of the contestants who couldnt sing it would have been really funny.
+miss sepet I have to agree. I listened to the original singer and a few recent covers on shows. This one is the best. The others I just feel like they are just hitting the notes to show that they can, but this girl here, I can "feel" the song.

In the show the musicans must guess which contestants are tone deaf and who can actually sing based on some background information, their looks and how they lip sync (some lip sync to their own voice and some are tone deaf and lip sync to others voices)
This is the best version of tears... she sings the song effortless...it is sounded so clean n i am truly admired by her performance.. this is also the best example of NEVER EVER JUDGE THE BOOK BY IT'S COVER..
