ICARUS IS PAY TO PLAY...| NEW FRONTIER DLC | 2023 

This game is amazing these days. Especially the open world gameplay. You can do missions within the open world just like you do on the main menu.. but in order to do so you need to craft the table bench that sends signals to and from so you get the mission. I like the earth like enviroment, and I'm always building. I'm working on many watch towers accross the land made of glass and cement. The structures never got destroyed or need repair in the regions ive settled on . The gamenisngreat considering were now able to edit the saves and keep them. Your 100 hours on ine save file will never be deleted during an update. How many games can say that.

Now i am not scared if aliens attack us. Cause the'll just land and try to fight us with wooden bows.

The most engaging part of a survival game is the beginning. This game always has a new beginning. Thats what makes it different.

The Witcher 3 had the best DLC concept Ive seen in a videogame. Big DLC for story an gameplay are free. Little things like Alt outfits for some characters is paid. Not just that, they were cheap too. I think for 5 character skins, two Gwent Decks appearance, the soundtrack, and one other thing was like $20... maybe if that.

One thing I feel you (the content provider and opinion holder) should remember is that nobody is twisting your arm to buy anything. When it first came out, perhaps you were disappointed with the disparity between the trailer and what was initially given. Fair. If it was so disappointing, you should have gotten a refund. You say it improved considerably. Great. The DLC cost quite a bit? Okay. Mistakes were made, but considering the absolute endless onslaught of unfinished, micro-transaction-filled, janky garbage that comes out of sooo many studios nowadays, I think RocketWerkz hit one out of the park. Not Baldur's Gate 3 out of the park, but I'd rather play Icarus for 200 hours than 1 hour of Starfield. I don't think Dean Hall was being abnormally greedy. I have no idea how much the game improved or what exactly was added, and maybe it doesn't equate to an extra $50, but I just paid $56 for the whole thing and that suits me just fine. Another thing, I think people should do is wait for Steam sales, or wait until a game has been out for a while. Maybe it's hard for some people to be patient, but I think gamers who have been around a while have learned about Early Access and Pre-ordering. Jumping into a game after it's been out for a year or two is generally great advice, but often people are too impatient to wait.

ALL devs are greedy and have been for decades now ... they all release a game 50% done and charge you over a year or 2 $30 here and there for the DLC which is really just the fully game. They split sections off that will allow the game to still work with the intent of releasing it and charging more money later. Its up to the gamers to stop buying half made games or just keep paying

Yeah like why does a youtuber expect to make money of their videos, its not like its fair of them to expect youtube to keep paying them when youtube need money to keep running. i agree with this argument. Icarus keeps delivering update after update, its insane the amounts of content they have given.

I paid £60 for Starfied of which didn't contain the things promised or suggested. It was 10% of the game that we all believed it would be. A budget title worth no more than £15. At least Icarus is a time-sink, a game I shall put hundreds of hours into, and in the end cost less than one of those AAA rip off titles. Your logic is flawed on this one.

I agree in part with you but in this case, if the game released with a price of 30$ in an uncomplete state and then released with the DLC that makes it a full game for 50$, i don't see the problem, 50$ seems the standard price. I Would agree completely if the game would have a cost of 100$ to make you play the full game, but seems not the case. Probably their mistake has been to just label new frontiers as a DLC, if they would have said, we are in EA now and the price is 30$ and after will be 50$ no one would have said anything.

I'm sorry, but i think you looking it the wrong way. I think the business model is genius! Just think for a second, this game has incredible freedom. You can play it, how ever you want. Pour many hundreds of hours. Even solo! And still you got every week something new. I think the 60$ dlc price is totally legit. Because with every new map, you basically got a new game/planet. Where you can play it for many many more hours. I measure games buy hours/playability. The best part is, you're character is independent. Which means, you can travel from one planet to another. And still have all the skills and experience from previous maps. I over 600 hours gameplay right now. And i only played Openworld Olympus. I can still play the missions in the base game. It's not greedy. It's a good business model, where you don't buy things you don't want. Plus it gives the devs enough founds, to improve the game and add new content. I just love this game. Give it a try first

Well, they EXPLICITLY TOLD YOU the DLCs would be “pay for play” for everyone who didn’t buy the Supporter’s Edition BEFORE. THE. ORIGINAL. GAME. WAS. RELEASED. But, I guess morons gotta blame others for their own stupidity. 😂
