Hey Infinity - thanks for that, I used to do a lot of Icarus short clips so that intro was from one of those. Appreciate the watch my man - yeah, the video probably took 20 hours editing, mine tend to be like that - sucker for punishment really. Ha.
@@mattymojo i feel you! my videos take as long as yours maybe a bit more! i love Icarus! I do a lot tips and tricks, builds and cinematic style videos.
Hey buddy - yeah you've done some similar stuff to me for sure - have a look at this trailer I did ages ago - similar to your stuff. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mUS-LrRI9n0.html @@Infinity.Gaming2023
@@sydneycarstensen-hoehn8138 But is it worth $100? The way this game is priced is a bit crazy the way they lock everything behind DLC. What is the multiplayer scene like in it? Are there people to play with or do you need to bring your friends to the game and get them to also spend $100 on it?
Its def worth it, 3 different styles of play on 3 huge maps, lots of blueprints to learn, lots of nice areas to explore, not as hardcore as some survival games like Green Hell or The Long Dark, but still lots of fun. Its more of a chill survival experience kind of like Subnautica. The missions give your specific tasks that you have to complete within a certain amount of real world days but most of them can be done in a few hours, open world you do whatever you want and there is a thing you can craft to contact the space station to recieve special missions in open world which will reward you with xp and bonus items or resources, and outposts give you a region to build whatever you want with respawning resources whereas open world and most important resources don't automatically respawn unless you use a special item called a THUMPER which also activates a boss battle.
Awesome video, I had hoped for a more detailed look at the game developement wise in the "final thoughts" section though. I heard this game had a lot of bugs but I don't know the state of it in 2023, as I'm thinking to buy it for me and some buddies as a christmas gift. Would you recommend it for people who are interested in survival with a larger base-building component to it?
Hey there Stealth, yes I was a little light on the finer details. It is a very good co-op game, very few bugs, well optimised, the base building is excellent. It is a bit more chill than other survival games. Thanks for the comment.
I've also been eyeing on this game but the negative reviews and the price of the package kept me away. I've got a try on the free weekend last time, so far I like the progression, building mechanic and the weather effect. My impression of the game is more about focusing on survival on the planet against weather and local life forms, keeping your hideout in good condition while keep improving your lair and just enjoy the sight living there. Not sure if there will be any bigger goal in the game or anything planed for the future. From what I've seen at least it is solo possible, unlike some game where you can't play if other people not around.
Also like to add the weather effect is what got me notice. Many other games has big storms and weather but many or mostly just cosmetic, it doesn't really do much in the world or to the player. The minute I play this game I saw trees falling, woods being burn, stuff I put outside the house got blown away, this is real storm weather and I hope the dev. will do more with this, weather that actually meant something to the player and in the world.
There is freeroaming open world with no objectives, there is outposts which is a small map that is relatively safe with milder storms where you can just build whatever you want with respawning resources, and then there is campaign missions where you have specific objectives and at the end of it you earn Ren which you spend in the workshop to buy special items that you can take into drops or summon to you mid drop. I recommend doing some missions first to get some levels and to get the workshop Oxygen tank and Canteen as they will make all future missions less grindy. Also recommend the MXC pickaxe, it won't last super long but will def be useful for doing a couple iron runs so you can then rely on iron pickaxe until you upgrade to steel.
