Fair comments but deactivated warheads would not create too much kinetic damage, a small blast radius, however would create a dust plume i.e. a dirty bomb

The rods from god were intended to be telephone pole sized and made from solid tungsten. The kinetic energy would be much higher, and since they would be in orbit, their speed would be similar to that of the ISS (at 17000 mph). An icbm's max speed only reaches 14-15k at its apogee.
