Ice Breaker is the new-for-2022 quadruple launch coaster at SeaWorld Orlando. Built by Premier Rides, this coaster features an extended swing launch sequence and several powerful airtime moments. This may be both the sleeper hit of 2022 and the best coaster ever from Premier Rides. Find out why in this review!

This would be a funny ride to stick my friends who are chickens on since they wouldn't be expecting that ejector airtime. Especially since Tigris down the road looks more intimidating

I really enjoyed Ice Breaker! And being at my homepark, I can get use to this! The ride did shock me and I did say it would be the sleeper hit of 2022 a long time ago. I think I was correct and outside of a hard time getting in and out of the trains, not too much else to complain about. The first launch actually surprised me some because I'm going in with the mentality that this is a "family" coaster. Was stronger than I anticipated. Very glad Sea World added this ride! Launch 1 - 29 mph Launch 2 - 39 mph Launch 3 - 43 mph Launch 4 - 52 mph

This ride definitely exceeded my expectations. Back row is definitely the move so you get the full experience climbing backwards up the beyond vertical spike. A whole bunch of unexpected ejector airtime. I agree, main issue is the trains and those damn comfort collars. If it was just a lab bar this would be the best coaster at the park. I still give the edge to Mako.

The power of the airtime really was surprising.

Always a pleasure to watch ur videos. I’ve been on this coaster, and was happy to hear someone else confirm how tight it is to get on and off this coaster….less leg room than any other coaster, including Spirit Airlines. However, saying this is better ejector than any other coaster in Orlando is a stretch. Intamin, Chris Pratt, and I would certainly disagree
@CanobieCoaster
@CanobieCoaster 2 года назад
I think the ejector is more powerful than even Velocicoaster.

I was there for their Passport to Thrills event and only got 1 ride and that bump after the final launch just absolutely crushed my shins. I was not prepared for how violent it was. I also did not know what you said about the back row of Premier trains so I purposely sat in the back row. I was only allowed the one ride and that shin crusher ruined it but I will go back again and try it in the front row of the last car.
@CanobieCoaster

My favorite seat was row 8 since you get the air of the back with more leg room.

Def my number 3, I hope when pipeline opens I’ll get back here. I got stuck on the train for 15 minutes before dispatch because one of the lap bars wouldn’t register with the sensors that it was locked but after that it was amazing, I got 6 rides and it was 110 degrees so I think I got the best ride experinace possible and I’m small enough that when the lap bars is all the way down I still have atleast 1 inch of room. The only complaint I have is took atleast 3 minutes for a dispatch and that was not pleasant sitting on the brakes in 110 degree weather
@CanobieCoaster

Pipeline looks like a cool addition.

Great review. I would agree that it was far more thrilling than expected for a “family” coaster. The layout is awesome and provides an incredible amount of ejector air as you point out. I have a love/hate relationship with the Premier trains. They are nearly impossible to get into on any row but the front of each car, and the first time I tried the comfort collar snapped back and knocked my glasses off. Fortunately a friendly park op was able to retrieve them but it was an embarrassing moment. It slows the operations down considerably. Now I never sit in the actual back - I always go for row 7 because the forces in the back car are the same and it’s easier to climb into the seat. As a larger guest, I appreciate the extra forgiveness of the restraints. These and the B&M clamshells are the only restraints that actually allow me to lift out of my seat with considerable room. The comfort collars are not a dealbreaker, but as a tall person they do hit my shoulders before the lap bar hits my thighs, which means I get bruises on re-rides. I wish they would just do away with them altogether - and if that’s the reason for the height increase, then maybe they just might. 🤞🏼

I wish Premier would revisit their trains to make them more open and easier to enter/exit.

Such a coincidence that you posted these last 2 reviews on the days I first rode each one respectively. Today, I went to Ice Breaker at almost noon, and with the orca show about to start, Ice Breaker was a walk-on. There were 2 very short breakdowns during that time, but I still got 6 rides before the crowd from the show joined. Later in the afternoon, it was again a walk-on. The staggered opening is not uncommon here. Manta always opens with the park, but I have noticed delayed openings (at least on weekdays) for one coaster or another further away from the front of the park. The discomfort collars didn't bother me on this like they do on every other ride that has them. I didn't even have to hold onto them to avoid getting smacked. I did notice that I needed to fight the lap bar to keep from it getting tighter. But that airtime was excellent! It was so much better than I thought it would be. It caught me off guard. Both this & Iron Gwazi far exceeded my expectations!
@CanobieCoaster
@CanobieCoaster 2 года назад
Thankfully Mako no longer has a staggered opening at least. Was Manta open for you? It was closed last week on weekdays for painting.

@@CanobieCoaster Yes, Manta was open, rode it several times. I didn't know it had been closed. Atlantis still closed with a section of that main drop totally removed and work being done during the day.

I rode it when I made the trip to Florida to ride Iron Gwazi. I enjoyed it but I think it has been over hyped a bit. For me it is the 4th best coaster at Sea World Orlando, and in terms of Premier roller coasters, I prefer the 2 Mr Freeze Reverse Blast, Full Throttle, West Coaster Racers, and Powder Keg. The best moment is the hill after the 4th launch before you go over the top hat. I was in the back and that hill was quite good, although I think Velocicoaster had better ejector air time. I think it is a good addition. Maybe after more rides I may put it ahead of Kraken, but it is no where near Mako or Manta for me. Especially Mako.
@OklahomaCoasterFan
@OklahomaCoasterFan 2 года назад
I agree with the rides you have ahead of Ice Breaker. I may put it ahead of West Coast Racers, but only because the discomfort collars on WCR are an issue for me, but they aren't on Ice Breaker. I'll put it # 3 in the park, barely ahead of Kraken, but I wasn't expecting it to even come close to Kraken.
@CanobieCoaster
@CanobieCoaster 2 года назад
I much prefer Velocicoaster overall, but the pure power of this ride's ejector airtime was superior for me.
@ElectriKong-

Probably also the biggest failure of 2022 so far, since they increased the height restriction to 54", it is functionally no longer the family coaster it was supposed to be, and failed to fill the gap in the park's lineup it set out to fill, if this isn't reversed.

I don't think Sea World could of gotten a better fit. This is a very high intensity filled family coaster, wouldn't even call it a family coaster. It has everything the park needed, they needed ejector pops, a launch, and a coaster that wasn't blue lol. The comfort collars don't ruin it at all and it's a very very solid family thrill ride. I cannot wait.

I dont understand why premier doesnt design a better train that is more open, like almost every other manufacturer does today, a la S&S, B&M, Mack, Intamin, Zamperla. I feel like they'd be much more competitive as a manufacturer if they did that, because their rides seem relatively reliable and also less expensive than some of those other companies

This was supposed to open two years ago. I hope we never have to wait this long for a new roller coaster again. The only exception I'll make is if it has something to do with construction. That's the only thing I'll tolerate since some coasters like the ones built by Disney require that long to assemble.

Looking at the park map, it looks like IceBreaker is located away from most of the other coasters, right between two of the park’s Stadiums. I wonder if that might also impact your wait time? (i.e if a lot of people decide to ride this right after watching one of the animal shows)
