I try and fix most appliance issues before calling a pro. This video was the OBSOLETE best I have watched. Hands down for the content, helpfulness, showing how to use the Volt meter and the direct and to the point!!! Thanks.
Very well done! I am a DIY guy and your explanations on testing the various parts were very clear! I believe first timer could understand how to do it! Thank you!!!
I replaced the freezer door gasket with new one, but still ice forms at the bottom of the freezer , what's wrong? The new seal seems to be ok. And also door alignment
Fresh food section ice build up by the cool air blowing vents, nothing wrong in the freezer section or no ice build up in the coils, what part I need to replace, my Frigidaire French door refrigerator only 2 yrs older??
Hey guys. First, thank you! Thanks for sharing information like this for us DIYers. But I would like to ask a question: There's a flap between the doors of my Kenmore side-by-side (bottom freezer) that gets incredibly warm at times. Is this part of the defrost cycle? It concerns my wife greatly as well. Thanks in advance.
Thank you. It is normal for that to get warm. If it's getting too hot you will need to check the condenser coils in the back to make sure they aren't dirty. Also check to make sure the condenser motor is coming on.
@@appliancepartspros Thanks. From time to time the evap coil ices up and stops the fan. It seems that this causes that flap to get excessively warm. By that time though I know it's time to pull the inside panel out and grab the wife's hair drier. Again, thank you.
@@appliancepartsprosHey guys, me again. I just wanted to share what I found on my Kenmore fridge. The defrost sensor I needed (60148-0003400-1) was no longer available anywhere. Even from you guys. I ended up buying a 60148-0007500-1 and switched the plug and it's working fine now. I checked the resistance of the new part in a bowl of warm water against the sensor from the freezer side and both were within a couple of ohms of each other at different temps. Thanks again for your help.
I have a direct cool double door fridge, the one that makes frost at freezer compartment, it builds frost at refrigerator front wall which is visible at front when the door is opened. Any remedy and reason for?
I have a side by side whirlpool that is still getting somewhat icey in the vent from the freezer. I replaced the defrost control board, the defrost heater element, the defrost thermostat, and the temperature control thermostat all with name brand whirlpool parts and my fridge is better but still not perfect. The next thing I was going to replace is the defrost temp sensor. The unit was made in May 2007 and I'm wondering if the compressor is failing? Any thoughts?
@@aspiringleo It got fixed by reseating the condenser coils in the freezer which allowed better airflow and I had ice buildup in the thermostat bulb sleeve which I blew out with compressed air. This stopped the short cycling then I turned down the thermostat to make it colder in the fridge because it's a different design from the original model that doesn't appear to be as sensitive. The temperature is good now but I still get some ice sickles on the vent occasionally because the Freon is probably a little low but you can't refill so I just live with it.
So i get the part where the ice buildup due to debris blocking it or it is iced up, what about getting water on your floor on a side by side on the refrigerator side floor. I am getting a sheet of ice on the freezer side and water on the floor on the right side. Did i miss something?
@@donj1325 It has been good now for over a week, still have not pick up the turkey baster to try the hot water technique. Hopig the issue is resolved. Also purchase and put in a legit water filter as well. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hey, I have one with the double doors, and the freezer is at the bottom,, ice has gathered so much in the bottom that I’m having trouble shutting the door,, there is so much in it, that it’s pushing up the bottom basket, hitting the top one. Leaving me not to put much in the freezer. I’m at my wits in. I have NEVER had water hooked up to it for the water and ice. My mother bought it years ago, and I live in a trailer and never got anyone to hook that up. Can someone tell me what is wrong please? I can’t afford one. Please, anyone help? I’d appreciate it
Precisely what I was looking for!!!!!!! My moms GE fridge is frosting up and this will guide me step by step to a solution!! I spent the better part of my Sunday watching hours and hours of terrible footage, incessant talking, poor lighting, and nauseating soundtracks looking for THIS INFORMATION!! RU-vid did us NO favors by disabling the dislike button.
The amount of ice I have in the refrigerator compartment is huge. I have no ice in the freezer compartment. The water must be coming from the ice-maker/water dispenser part of the refrigerator door. There is not enough moisture in the air to make the amount of ice I get in the refrigerator section.
@@appliancepartspros The main portion of the refrigerator has two air conduits that mate up with conduits in the left-hand door. There are gaskets/seals there and I am pretty sure they are leaking air into the refrigerator. There is moisture around one of the seals and there is water on the floor of the refrigerator beneath the seals. I'll get a tech out to look at it.
