Ice fishing Montana February 2024 was a great success. Ice conditions around the Flathead Valley were great even with the milder winter we had. Lake trout fishing was super fun and where we focused most of our efforts. West of Kalispell we had great days on McGregor Lake. Not always the biggest lakers but good activity while we waited for Whitefish Lake to freeze up. Whitefish Lake eventually froze up and became a good safe option. Big white tubes tipped with sucker meat are deadly on Whitefish Lake.
