Alexi brings the Mark II out of retirement to go ice lake drifting at Yachiho Lake, and goes for a ride with D1GP driver Koguchi for some close but slow tandem drifts.

jbutterz it definitely is, I used to have a beater GMC s15 Jimmy i used to haul parts. It came with a 4cyl and 5spd manual and every winter when the roads were slick but plowed I would take it on the back roads and ice drift for hrs. Its such a different experience than drifting on asphalt, you don't need or want speed really because its such a fine line between being in control and losing grip all the way around and spinning like a top. You can get some pretty crazy angle too because the rear just doesn't want to grip or push the front like normal.

You really should see the next stage of winter drift battle in Krasnoyarsk. Its going to be the fastest winter drift championship in the world. Also Kawabata is taking part in it, and some of world famous drifters too

@@AfroMyrdal lol Not all over Russia. In the north of the country, winter can last up to 6 months. In the middle lane 3-4 months. In the south there is no winter at all, it is warm there all year round. Actively developed winter drift in Krasnoyarsk. On RU-vid there are videos.

In Scandinavia, we use the studless tire as drag radials, the compound is soft and sticky in summer. They also produce lot of smoke.

So awesome that former drivers come to do this, Here in the states we have a GoCart place that has some Nascar drivers that show up from time to time.
