Great Review a solar panel extension cable for the SOGEN to keep in shade a 12v dc female cig lighter socket to dc 5.5x2.1male to take advantage of the ports.

I had the opportunity to buy the JP40 on Amazon as a lighting deal a year ago. It has made my family trips better. Best investment I've made.

Do you think the JP models (looking at the JP30 here) hold temperature better than the GO20? I hear the GO20 doesn't have great insulation. With the cover they're about the same price. I don't need dual zones. If they perform about the same then I think the JP30 is a better buy for the same money.

Good video but... Complaining about the lid opening one way or the other, dual zones and not having an app shouldn't be in the video. There are options with different ICECO models that would fit your wishes. I live in a van... the opening is perfect for between the seats. I don't need dual zones and if I wanted that feature I would be looking at another model. Having an app is just bling IMHO and more to go wrong. These are great coolers and I would recommend them to anyone. Also... opening the lid to the side (like in your back seat) would limit / block you completely from one side.

An app? Be glad that nobody can mess with your freezer. An app draws more standby power and it's another point of failure. Dual zone? If the Iceco had two top lids and zones, it would be much more expensive and heavy to move than two chest freezers. Less versatile, too. MAX mode? ECO makes the compressor last longer. It's a lapped bore, so it will break in better in ECO. .. Nice unit.

Can’t you charge the Ecoflow from your car using 12V? I use a Jackery with that option, and you can have this setup: Iceco -> Battery pack -> car 12v When the car is off, your fridge keeps running. I even move my Iceco and Jackery as one when I need to move the fridge and keep it running and cold.

Awesome presentation! I'll probably end up having exact same setup. Got Ecoflow River Pro and 160W solar panels from Costco when they had sales. Keeping eye on Iceco JP30 for awhile, but haven't pull the trigger yet.

I’m pretty excited about it. Everything I’ve investigated says I should be able to run it for about 50 hours on my battery bank and recharge said battery bank with solar panels in about four hours.

Great review. I was wondering how much heat is expelled from the compressor ventilation. I would like to carry this in the rear cab of my truck while towing my rv.

30qts equates to 1 cu ft of storage space inside the frig. I can visualize 1cu ft easier than 30qts. OFF TOPIC - I'd like to know what prompted you to buy a Jeep Compass rather than some other SUV?
@BackcountryExposure
@BackcountryExposure 3 года назад
Right on! I've always liked the concept of the Jeep Cherokee and Compass. Some of it came down to price, but also I wanted a capable small suv with enough ground clearance to get into any of the trailheads that I would like. The Jeep 4x4 systems are nice as well for what they provide in a small suv. I got stuck in some pretty intense mud getting to the trailhead for Halls Creek narrows earlier this year, and the compass in mud mode and "4 low" was impressive getting out of a sticky situation. It's been reliable and is just the right amount of suv I need for my needs.

@@BackcountryExposure Thank, Devin, for taking time to answer my OFF OPIC question. I bought an Engel 1.3 cu ft Marine FREEZER a good 8-9 years ago & paid $750. That same Freezer with THE most efficient compressor, the Swing Compressor which is much more energy efficient than the DanFoss compressors has reliable kept food FROZEN on the hottest of days in the back of my insulated E250 Cargo van. That same Freezer is selling for over $1,100 today & there haven't been any engineering or cosmetic changes. My Freezer opens the same as the way you WISH your frig opened. I considering a Bluetti EB70 to provide power for my Freezer while at home if & when we have a long protracted power outage. Engel's are to Freezers same as Hilleberg is to tents. Speaking of Hilleberg Enan tents.....Hint, hint, hint! Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada

for $500 you would think theyd have an app. The other bad, is that it doesnt have the screen on same side of the opening

How does the noise level of the JP30 compare to the GO20? Also, the JP30 seems a lot more rugged meaning it can take more abuse (less nicks and scratches) than the GO20. Does that sound right? Does it hold temperature better than the GO20? Thanks!
@utubetjc
@utubetjc 5 месяцев назад
I have the JP30 and a Go20. The compressor / fan noise is about the same...the JP30 is slightly louder and the cooling set temps are consistent with both of mine using a thermometer attached to the basket. Hope this helps.

I already considered to get something similar. For that price point (cooler, battery pack & solar panels) it isn’t just worth it. A good roto molded cooler wisely managed with last longer with one ice load out than this thing on one charge. It is basically an expensive trade off between ice management vs battery bank management. And also as mentioned, electronic can/will fail but a yeti cooler will last forever unless you do something stupid with it.
@BackcountryExposure

I think a lot depends on your style, how often you go out and what you feel your needs are. Both styles have their place and use. :)

But what if you need/want a battery pack + solar to power other stuff like fans, phone, laptop etc?

Also consider you will lose about 1/2 the space with ice in a regular cooler.

Try & get any service/customer service out of those so-called "cheaper" frigs. It won't happen. Apparently, you've not yet learned the basics of economics, you get what you pay for, when you pay less you'll likely discover the compressor fails after a little use, or it won't maintain the temperature you've set it for because of poor insulation.
@scuba5k
@scuba5k 3 года назад
@@azclaimjumper it’s Costco, they have a life time return policy on almost anything. You can buy something and return it after 2 years. Edit: Oddly you sound like a bot, clearly this video felt like an ad. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were ICECO or backcountry exposure himself.

If the issue with coolers is this space the ice needs, replacing it something that has a compressor and needs a battery pack to run it doesn't seem to make much sense. Not to mention I'm sure you probably don't want to get this thing wet. Doesn't seem practical, even while car camping to me.
@BackcountryExposure
@BackcountryExposure 3 года назад
I see your point. However, the biggest issue with a cooler is for more than a day the cooler isn’t capable of keeping food cold long enough, and as the ice melts it just gets everything wet. This fridge is smaller in dimensions than my equal sized Yeti in quart capacity and I don’t have to worry about ice, ever. The battery bank also has multiple uses while on a trip. Thanks!
