One of the most unique and least visited places in Iceland is located several dozen kilometers north of its northern coast. Exactly at the Arctic Circle, the lonely islet of Grímsey rises from the Greenland Sea. What is most interesting, it is inhabited by a community of about 20 people, creating a fully functional housing estate. The inhabitants have their own shop, restaurant, port and fishing industry, recently there was also a school on the island. We can get to Grímsey by ferry or... by plane!
