Yeah. I get the impression this was due to Zangetsu White's nature as a Hollow even if he's also a Zanpakuto spirit too. He always came off wanting Ichigo to be more of a monster while forgetting Ichigo's strength stems from his desire to protect others.

This also fits Zangetsu's one true desire to protect Ichigo for him Ichigo's life is the only one that matters his friends be damned, he'll do anything to keep em outta harms way as long as he takes care of the enemy at hand, looking back this explains why Zangetsu attacked Uryu, Uryu tried to stop him from finishing Ulquiorra who hurt his master so by protecting an enemy that killed Ichigo Zangetsu be like "Ok then! You're my enemy too by protecting this scumbag!" ​@BryonYoungblood

White just doesn't seem to get, like Black, that his actions to protect Ichigo also come off like they only care about *THEMSELVES* and no one else, showing their selfishness to an extent, even if I get why they want to protect Ichigo above all else. It sitll makes me feel like they just want to also heavily protect themselves because they lack the courage to think of others like Ichigo does, and can tend to twist things of what he wants, like when White stepped in to take over when Ichigo was dying fighting Ulquiorra and twisting his desire to protect Orihime and Uryu.

Because their personalities and emotions were similar but their motivations were the polar opposites. Makes for great fights

If you Ichigo grew up 1000 years ago in the soul society he would be just like Grimmjow. Accept that he would have the power to back up his words.

Combatwise Ichigo is all about his sword whereas Grimmjow (although a good swordsman) is mostly a hand to hand expert which is a very refreshing change in Bleach.

@@vivianadjei5620 yeah it's the same thing White/Zangetsu (Hichigo) has been telling him the whole time. Grimmjow and Kenpatchi knew his powers were tied to instinct. That's what White has been doing this whole time - protecting him, allowing him to achieve his goals in both self preservation and to try show him the truth. White IS Zangetsu, but old man (Yautch) was holding him back, trying to protect him due to the fact he hates his hollow side due to the fact a hollow killed his mother. He does eventually realise it and the truth, not spoiling when or how, but that's the main reason Grimmjow hated those eyes; he's holding back. He was still afraid to embrace White Zangetsu. He's a natural born Vizard due to Aizen. That's honestly the only good thing he's done in this series. I'll let you find out why, but yes, Aizen is why.

Grimmjow hates being looked down on more than anything as his aspiration is to eventually become the king of his realm. Whenever anyone acknowledges him as any less than themselves it fills him with rage and he lashes out at them to the point where he becomes obsessed with striking them down if only to prove that he himself is superior, ergo why he went to the lengths he did to revive Ichigo just to prove a point and fight him, Grimmjow doesn’t just want to be superior, he has to be superior on behalf of the vasto lordes who were his companions in the past but asked that he consume them once they’d given up. To him to be inferior is not only an insult to his pride but an insult to those who gave themselves to him in belief of his strength and power. Panthers are solitary animals, being the animal he’s associated with, he still requires acknowledgment and validation from others ergo his potent ego, he won’t admit it but he valued those who looked up to him. Ichigo’s eyes are the eyes of someone who believes they can win, something Ulquiorra similarly despises in Ichigo, his belief that he can win is insinuating that he’s better than Grimmjow which infuriates him.

@@nologiccasey I put it second on my list DBZ is first since most fighting animations are influenced in some way by Dragon ball z. Tho it’s not based off of why it’s my second favorite, Bleach to me has the the next most powerful characters if we had a power scale

Besides yeah hollows existed since the beggining since they are freaking souls so its only natural to say that.

Well, funny thing was it was supposed to be a little more evened out, as tite has stated he wanted it to go down more akin to the hell verse movie, where Ulquiorra was genuinely standing on relatively equal footing. The actual fight wasn't supposed to be that ridiculously one side.

Totally agree.. To be honest I didn't really like Ulquiorra vs. Ichigo, it was a total nuke fest.. Ichigo vs. Grimmjow is still hands down my favorite Bleach fight, next would be Ichigo vs. Byakuya, then Byakuya vs. Kouga..

No he would not have thrashed Grimmjow right from the start.. The latter even seemed stronger than Ichigo when they had fought for the last time. It was a really cool fight but I don’t think Ichigo should have won against Grimmjow. He only had managed to do so because he is the main character of Bleach but Grimmjow had definitely several opportunities to beat Ichigo..

Honestly I think Grimmjow and Ichigo are actually fairly even. If Ichigo actually trained as a proper Shinigami, judging by Mugetsu and his Dangai training, Ichigo may have beaten Grimmjow without much effort. However, this is ignoring the fact that even Grimmjow himself got stronger after TYBW. It seems outside of Grimmjow, none of the other Arrancar are increasing their powers.

Johnny's voice for White (Zangetsu/Hichigo) is by far my favourite voice in this series.

Honesty I feel like the dub was astonishingly on point. I couldn't imagine byakuya, kenpachi or anyone else voiced by any others. Maybe orihime... but thats just due to me finding her somewhat annoying. A new va wouldn't fix that for me lol

I mean he didn’t fire them at orhime and nel ichigo dodged and forgot they right above him they both took high physical and Resolve damage Grimmjow more because he had to rethink his whole way of being and I wish we could get a light novel of Grimmjow either after this fight until he appeared in TYBW or after and that could tie into him appearing in CFYOW. I just want to see my boys Secunda Attapa and see how he gets it I’m a light novel and him getting to current ichigo level because he kinda weak rn hate to say it but he not as top tier as he use to be during Hueco Muendo Arc

Well, Kubo was very sick.

I heavily disagree on him half-assing the end, he really did try to get a concise ending but shonen jump had told him they were dropping the series after he started the tybw and didn't give him enough time chapter-wise to get the story told how he wanted, and that's compounded by how he had significant health issues then. When consider all that it's actually quite impressive how the end turned out, sure things weren't as good as they could've been but now that kubo is back with the anime well more than likely get fixes to weaker parts of the arc

Once Nel talked her outta fearing Ichigo's Hollow power, but yeah once that happened and Ichigo's reasured Orihime isnt scared of him he can cut loose. It also reminds me of what Kariya said even though he's a filler villain, eventually those without great power will fear those who have it and abandon them, Kariya stated eventually this'll happen to Ichigo and we saw glimpses of that possibility with Orihime being terrified of White's/Zangetsu's powers, Ichigo's powers it's thanks to Nel that possible future was prevented. ​@@stormcutter59

I’d say both Nnoitra and Grimmjow combined make the evil version of Kenpachi. Their desire for power, grinning throughout battle, brutality, Grimmjow’s honor code of not fighting a heavily injured opponent, and Nnoitra also having a superior whom he wants to defeat before dying (happens to be female as well).

Funny enough one of the DS Bleach games 3rd Phantom teased the idea of Grimmjow and Kenpachi fighting and I think their killing intent towards eachother scared Yammy, and when Yammy called out Grimmjow he was the leader of the invasion, both Grimmjow and Kenpachi told Yammy to shut the hell up.

Dude the only reason Nnoitra beat Ichigo was because he was far beyond exhausted and Nnoitra was pumped up and full of energy but if he got exactly 24 hours worth of sleep by taking a Xanax or Valium with Orihime staying up all night to heal his wounds and went full power he would've beat the fuck outta Nnoitra

This was made from someone who clearly hasn’t watched bleach. On round 1, Grimmjow destroyed Ichigo with his bare hands. The second battle, Grimmjow won because Ichigo couldn’t sustain his hollowfication for long. And in their last fight, Ichigo won with plot armor.

I don't get why orihime gets so much hate she's a supporter not a fighter and her saying Ichigo name all the time is because she's always thinking about him that's a stupid reason to hate a character to me

@@smananderson09 a weak excuse of her "just being a supporter" Kubo could've done so much more with her, thought up so much more for her and people know it. Just wasted potential left in the sidelines to become an irrelevant character with a lackluster personality literally summed up in the quote "I want to help and protect ichigo" (even though she doesn't even really succeed in doing that she's just a plot healing device for ichigo to come back from fights) past Hueco Mundo arc till the end that can't do much. Unohana is literally a more competent, useful, more character driven support than orihime ever was. Early orihime was fine but when her character went nowhere and she just become a fanservice device repeating the same crap over and over while never living up to what she says she's going to do since the soul society arc she just sucks as a whole. Kubo was just lazy and didn't add anything real to her in this action shounen manga/anime where supports like her literally are better by having more combat options and development than her. Orihime being a "support" is no excuse as Kubo literally could've thought up anything and make it work towards her resolve and determination to fight and protect the people she loves for example a sword and shield evolved and made from her flower pettel power or her passively healing in battle, literally using her powers for anything offensive past the arrancar arc.
