As someone who has been studying and refining Ichimoku strategies for a while, I have to say that was a fantastic video with clear explanations on what can be quite a difficult thing to master. You did a great job on simplifying things where it made sense to do so. On your examples though I can see the confusion some people in the comments had - perhaps you could have used the Replay function of the chart to temporarily hide more recent data so people could see clearly how the "current" Kumo extends 26 periods to the right?

If holding forex trades for 2-3 days & entering on 15 minutes chart action,what should be Guiding time frame chart for trend direction.If one uses daily for trend,then trader is paying for overpriced merchandise(Already marked up for days on end). But Going with 1H trend for direction,the trend can flip on A dime. Decent trend on 4H chart is not going to flip on A dime. I think that 4H trend is optimal for trend direction. Objective is to buy on correction & to keep stop loss 30-50 pips for risk control. Your wisdom Sir.

Great video. My way to use Ichimoku Multi Timeframe, I put two Ichimoku on one chart. In M15 chart, use standard setting for M15 Ichimoku and add another Ichimoku to the chart and multiply the setting by 4 to see H1 Ichimoku in M15 chart. The same works with H1 and H4. If you want to see H4 Ichimoku in M15, multiply the setting by 16. So 3 Ichimoku in one M15 chart. Your chart will be a bit busy, but you can play with the colors to differentiate which Ichimoku belongs to which Timeframe. You'll get used to it after a while....

Nice, i wouldn't have think about that, BUT, there is 1 caveat with Ichimoku, it isn't a trend line : It cannot tell you, here is a TL, and price will bounce, it will be aware of the reversal much later.

Great video on ichimoku.... Precisely accurate, all TF must concur. if 4h is above the cloud wait until all lower tf price rises abouve the cloud........ all TF agreeing is very high probable trade. More can be added to the ichimoku however to make it almost holy grail.... Add currency strenght and ADX into it.... As a day trader.... Trade only when Ichimoku signal when ADX and currency strenght agree with it.

Traders biggest enemy is trend flipping on A dime(e.g. 1H/lower time frame trend).Trend on 4H chart is the best trend guide for majority of forex traders( if one keeps trades for 2-5 days). By the time trader realizes that trend on daily chart is up, market has already gone up about 3-5 days & if you ask supercomputer for the mathematical odds, computer tells you that odds are negative right from the start.Trend based on the last 5-10,four hourly candles has enough players/juice behind it so that it would not flip on A dime, so trader has decent chance to make something without buying overpriced asset. Sir, I seek your wisdom?

Great video, thank you! Bill William's fractals can also be used as stop loss levels instead of using targets. Can you please try a setup consisting of Ichimoku + ADX DMI + OBV? Apparently, this setup gives you earlier entry signals.

LineBreak is also useful in combination with Ichimoku (in a seperate chart i mean) ---when looking for relatively early entry points on possible reversals. That is: when and if price has fallen below kumo, has consolidated and is hinting at 'curling up'. Line Break can detect a pivotal yet subtle turn up earlier then a tenkan cross will show, often. Especially if used in a smaller time frame (i.e 2 min) then the candlestick one might be using generally. (5 min) However, reversals are always nonetheless risky (profit wise on the long) as price will have significant issues as it approaches kumo (which is where sometimes you will see it either barrel thru a thin part or fly thru a twist or get stuck and break back downwards)

Great video! thanks again very much for all these great videos. would love to see how you consider and work with the time cycle logic and concepts of waves (which is a bit diff then Elliott Wave theory). Also consideration of how the mathematics are 'really' working. One of the striking things about Ichimoku is how at times it 'works' almost uncannily, such as when and how price can literally cut up (in a retracement) and thru the very kumo twist or thin kumo's . much more can be said about Ichimoku. Role of diagonal line formations of the kumos in contrast to flatten tops or bottoms, etc. . why and how base and conversion lines are diff then EMA and where there is considerable strength in conceiving the diff's...

Awesome explanation. I noticed that sometimes in the examples it says the cloud is red, when it is green, and vice versa. You've added that this is not superimportant on the highest timeframe, but it also occurs on the middle time frame. So, its not mandatory at all, correct? Just makes it a stronger sign.

My question is the Kumo projects out i think its 26 time periods or candles depending on what time frame u are on. Also to lower false signals, when price crosses up (for example) base or conversion line, both lines have to go up (and vise versa for when prices crosses the line down)

You can use anytime frame you’re comfortable with. Shorter timeframes are for day traders and longer timeframes are for swing traders and hodlers.

@12:13 , maybe your arrow (red) is pointing at wrong location, but that arrow is not pointing at a bar in which Kumo is "red" as you say in the video. That is a small green Kumo cloud above that bar.

The third point (Kumo green (for long trades)), must the Kumo cloud be green below the current price, i.e. directly under the current candle, or must the current Kumo be displayed on the far right in the correct color at the moment? (the Kumo is always displayed 26 candles in advance to the right of the price)

Excelente explicación siempre veo videos de ichimoku a pesar que muchos dicen que no funciona para vender cursos yo se que funciona muchas veces lo uso en escalpin si en una hora el precio esta sobre o bajo la nube y en 5 minutos confirma la tendencia entro sin problemas me es mas rentable que usar medias moviles y facil vista para darle un ojo a varios activos rapido

It took me 14 minutes of watching before I realized the cloud is drawn quite a bit to the right (how many candles), and the color of the cloud is therefore to be seen some bars to the right of the candle. Whereas the orientation of the candle wrt to the cloud is to be seen directly at that candle. Is that correct?

Thanks for the video. I don't understand why you don't use ichimoku all the way down the smallest time frame. The reason why I use ichimoku is precisely because I don't have to use ema or other supports. Is it possible to replace your ema start by an ichimoku strat, for example, buy when the price crosses the kijun or something else ? Thanks for the quality of your work

seems legit.. i have been marking candles on higher tfs and then lowering down to see if it really works and guess what it seems to work most of the times.. i will be testing it out on demo account because the way I use ichimoku it just do not giving me the results i want
