Great Radio if its in your budget. Icom is the best at putting all the things you use daily right on the front and putting the rest in Menu's. They even layer the Menus so that the most least used items are deeper down. Perfect ergonomics. 300 mile trip at night on 40M is easy but during the Day thats going to be a major problem as the Day bands don't work well on those short distances.
Thanks for video, I'm looking to add a base station in the future. The 856 no longer made so thought the 7600 would be best. Not certain I need this advanced transmitter. I have a w32a hand held, a couple IC2100s, and a 706MkIIIG. I want to install 706 in truck with one of the 2100s then install the other 2100 in shack (which doesn't exist right now) . I'd like to find a way to simplex from southern CA to central AZ. About 300 miles by car and maybe 250 in straight line. For emergency service.
