Well done, I am about to tackle the inverter in a 746 Pro, this is a tempting alternative.

Are the buttons with red illumination on a different system? I have no lighting on power switch, the soft keys left of the screen, or on the numeric pad. Everything else works.

Thanks for this video! Just what I'm looking for. Any chance you could tell me where the control board would have to tap into the dimmer circuit for those of us who may want to try doing it? Cheers, Andrew VK2XXL

Hi Andrew, I did a bit of research with the schematic and the PCB board, It does state a back light voltage point but when measuring this and linking to the Dim voltage control of the led module I was unable to get a result. I have not given up but will in the future be looking for ideas and maybe help from others but when I get a usable result will be posting here. But must say I am very happy with the results of the upgrade and tend to leave the 756 on most of the time with no fear of display failure. cheers Barry. G4LVD

@@bandcam Thanks Barry. Sounds good mate. Not really a big problem at the end of the day when you consider how much better the LED mod is. I'll be trying this on mine. The main challenge for me will be making up that little regulator PCB.

Bad camera angle. It would look good if the camera was dead in front of the display.
