чувствительность у них примерно одинаковая , на видео разница из за разных настроек радио. их можно было в этих условиях настроить примерно одинаково. Но вот сравнивать в тлг нужно было бы на слабой станции одновременно что бы рядом с боку примерно герц на 500-600 стояла громкая станция +20дб уровнем. Вот тогда бы увидели разницу в приёмниках.
I agree with some other comments on the bandwith of the received cw signals. Also I see there is something wrong with the 7610 as the waterfall is showing synchronious pulsing in cadence with the received cw signal. The 7300 does not show this tough. As I am familiar with sdr and its signal visualisation since 2004, I must say that Icom still has a long way to go to make the waterfall more contrastfull and detailed. Just take a look @ SDR-console v3 software from Simon Brown and you will see what I mean. My opinion is that the 7610 is clearly overpriced. If only the 7300 had a monitor output... it would be more usable.

You didn't use the powerful tools 7610 has, is not about testing without using them, this is about to show how powerful is 7610, comparing with the others two rigs. I think you didn't show any thing important, and nobody can really know how effective 7610 can be.

All three are great radios. The 7300 is a heck of a radio for a great price. Kenwood is less of a deal, but a nice rig. Kenwood has better audio IMHO. The 7610 has a second receiver and nice large display with more features. All comments about overpriced are people who don't want to spend $3k on a radio and expect it to be cheaper for them to buy. In the mid tier range the 7610 is the cheapest option from the big three. It's about the same or even cheaper than the 7600 was with two receivers. If you want the most bang for buck 7300 is tough to beat. If you have a larger budget the 7610 is also a great option. Buy what you like or can afford.
Nice to see and hear both rigs, they both look great, however the IP+ is switched on the ic-7300! this will make a difference on sensitivity. Best 73's 😉 👍
now compare the 7610 with an FT250 tube transceiver (made by Tempo One, Yaesu or Sommerkamp, it's the same chassis). You'll be amazed and horrified too.
Moc by mě zajímalo zda se vyplatí kupovat 7610 když budu využívat spíše jedno VFO a zda je mezi 7300 a 7610 v přijímací části vůbec nějaký rozdíl. Mnoho HAMů kolegů, mi říká ať 7610 nekupuju, že to je jen 7300 s dvěma přijímači, je to pravda? Z tvého testu a videa mi vychází, že 7610 má signály lépe čitelné a bez hluku v pozadí, ale může to způsobit také jiný reproduktor v obou TCVR pokud při testu nebyla rádia připojena na jeden jediný a stejný reproduktor. Děkuji moc za postřehy, které mi pomohou se rozhodnout o mém dalším TCVR, 73! OK1TCM.
Thanks for that video. How a transciever A/B comparison becomes more usefull? Switch each 5 second, between transciever A and B. Switch fast, between A/B (no gaps) Switch during the same station is talking. Use on each transciever, external, equal loudspeaker. Don't talk yourself during the test. Use the same settings on each transciever (BW, GAIN, FILTER...) Cut out on the video, search stations. Write the mode for this video in the content; SSB; CW.... Use the same Antenna. Use a Antenna switch. Maybe you find some more useful settings? Best Regards Mark
Stick them on a service monitor and take all the variables away,ull get more consistent results as on air can have many uncontrolled variable results,plus you need to factor in IF filters used ,Audio and RF DSP settings,AGC dynamic range etc can vary results on each radio and how they are set up on your demo. I can see what your trying to do in good faith,but really it not a true performance eliable method of comparing from a technical stand point,I can prob read that from your title lol it can be subjective I will however agree most new radio kit coming out now is getting really quiet,very very stable and very low noise., a bit like the old PC sound cards war's who quieter,you get to a point it will be hardly notice it,it will be outside variables that will have the biggest factor like coping with Urban QRM,PLC noise,Man made spectrum noise will become the issue on how well a radio copes on HF band resolving it,rather than sensitivity and lots of often useless gimmicks Id love to see a destructive duty cycle test done,which one lasts longest with PA keys down into High VSWR and see which one copes best,throw some nasty stuff up DC lead,does it react badly to DC Noise CPU lockout?,whats AGC curve like from +40dB to -100dBM,How hot does the TFT display get on max brightness (use a temperature strip indicator).Over Volt and reverse polarity test radios can they cope or shut down or recover? Transmit Duty cycles fm,SSB of PA devices 20%,50%,100%? Spares and service A VS B? Sometimes Hams concentrate too much on this subject A VS B RX and should be really asking other questions like above ,Build quality,robustness and what protection does it offer A Vs B radio,like you said in video it's getting so much better now and too a point the difference is very marginal.Should we start asking other questions instead now? I did like the video and the nice shiny toys and both sound good to me,be nice to do follow up video of insides, like to see how well made with radio covers off and have a look at internals and how well put together at factory be nice. 73,s rob
Thanks for posting this info. I'm a IC-7300 owner and wondering about the 7610. I think, based on what I've seen here and elsewhere that I will wait until a couple of more firmware versions are released before I make a decision. Happy with the 7300 for now. Cheers! KN4DGR
So basically to be analyzed is the selectivity of the rig compared to the 590 in a contest environment. Also, 7610 will have the edge over the 590 when it comes to NR and NB capabilities, and the fact it has dual receivers. Fish finder is an addition too, but can be solved on the 590. So the choice is to have either the 7610 alone or I'll maybe get a 590SG together with my 7300 to have 2 rigs, the latter being in use on the higher bands due to its spectrum scope. IP+ is to be used only when strong signal a present, using IP+ on weak signal disavantage the receiving of the radio for sure. You should turn that off and make your test again.
That much more eye appealing S meter is one of the reasons I bought it. The Meter on the 7300 is a cheap imitation but considering the price of the Rig, I guess you get what you pay for. Love my 7610 and thanks for doing the video. 73
How loud is the T/R relay on the Icom 7610 radio? I used to use a Kenwood TS-940 using AMTOR ARQ and full break-in CW decades ago. The T/R relay is very quiet in the Kenwood TS-940. I have also used a Kenwood TS-430, and the T/R relay is very loud, so using AMTOR ARQ and full break in CW would not be acceptable with the loud T/R relay. How loud is the T/R relay in the Icom 7610 radio?
So, you just paid way too much for the 7610 and now say 'Yes, it is better' . Well, after spending all that pizza money, what the H else would you say? So, back to your comparison. I'm actually interested in what you find. KK4VTC/Sam
Thanks for the review, it seems to not be worth the purchase price. My FTDX-5000 with an SDRplay device can do everything this does although I require separate devices to do it.
which could be a valid reason to ditch the stuff. Laptop/sdr/trx is taking quite some estate.....? I also know that a friend of mine ditched his 5000 for an 7300 (he's not in a high RF env) due to it's performance. Maybe you should reconsider.
Was that a TS-590s or the TS-590SG model please ? The latter has the same front end as the 890 and 990 apparently. When I listened there was a difference, SSB has a more natural tone and better to listen to on the Kenwoods since not SDR radios.
@@HamHomestead I'm sorry but you're mistaken there. I had both 590's, an easy way to differentiate them is that with the 590SG it shows 'HF/50MHz transceiver TS-590' on the top right side of the display. (still have the 590SG) Gust ON6KE
well again Why use wide USB filter on all radio , when listen to CW use CW. Change bandwith to 800 hz or more narrow and use same RX filter on all radio, use NB filter on all or on non,and same AGC on all 3 radio and do it again. Settings where not same on this 3 radios when listen on same signal You lucky to have this 3 good radio side by side, would like to visit you and do this compare with you . But I am far far away :( TF3ARI
what would you expect? Comparing modern rigs in quiet band conditions doesn't make a lot of sense - all of them have an MDS far below natural noise. The differences get really obvious once the bands are crowded with big signals - dynamic range with close-spaced huge signals is what makes the difference, we'll soon see some "scientific" test results from Sherwood et al.
I would expect a $3K difference. I certainly wouldnt purchase a radio based solely upon Sherwood results.. More to the story. Besides, each of us uses our equipment differently, with understood limitations based upon $$$ Diminishing returns, as Gold Digger states. Though It is a very very fine radio.
Performance can be a combination of subjective (users ears, etc) and Objective (lab tests). To ME personally, what I see so far is not worth $3000 (over the cost of IC-7300) to ME personally... You may have more money than me, have more of a passion for ham radio, maybe more discerning, so to YOU its worth it I know the price will come down soon enough.. Not saying that the 7610 isnt a fine radio.. It certainly is. Remember, this a comparison of 2(3) radios $3000 is a lot of money to ME... (7300 was on sale for $1000) Nuff said.
Reasons we WON'T buy this radio.Must actually TOUCH the screen so that it will operate where you want it to do so.NEVER will I own a radio with such a STUPID requirement.The 7600 will be here very long time.
