Flying the ICON A5 from KSMO along the coast to beautiful Malibu 🏖 The cockpit was slick-luxury 🤝 simplicity. It basically felt like I was flying around in an airworthy sports car. I’ve never used an AOA Gauge before- it was a nice added safety feature & dumbed it down for even the simplest of us pilots 😅You have to work pretty hard to stall this thing. The “spin resistant” design gives you a nice warm and fuzzy feeling for the new and inexperienced pilot operating these aircraft. There is a ready to deploy parachute in the event of an emergency at even just a couple hundred feet- nice to know you’ve got that as a last resort. The aircraft is super light- max take off weight of 1510lbs and useful load of appx 430lbs and the pilot sits pretty low. As a higher time helicopter pilot my tendency is always to flare high on landing 😂 even more so in this thing because you sit so low. Just something to keep in mind as a helicopter pilot transitioning into an aircraft like this. Attempted a water landing but the swell was a bit too big that day- I could see this being a great craft to take out to a lake or South Florida 😍 Overall had a blast flying with @iconaircraft and @jerry.s.meyer ! Would love to take this thing out again. Thanks @paulnyhart for hooking a girl up! 🔥 🎶 “Sweet Dreams”-Eurythmics-Aftermath Remix
