I started buying Icon impact sockets and breaker bars but have given the sockets away and bought Tekton instead. I did keep the Icon breaker bars.. since I can’t seem to break them LoL
I'm the opposite I had tekton and went icon. Icon sockets are size relative tekton uses the same size blanks for every size. Make a big difference if you use then daily in tight spaces
I was down there a couple weeks ago and found a set of Icon 3/8 inch swivels for $65...on the "returns " table...I guess they thought one or two was missing... I got it home and opened it up it looked like they used the 13 mm one time the rest of them were brand new nice... that's $140 set...👍
every time i find something on the discount shelf, there's a socket missing and 5% knocked off the price. i sit there and look around at all the shelves, chuckling in disgust before walking away. not sure whos marking these items down but they suck at it. both the local harbor freights i go to are like this.
I love my Ikon stuff, but my biggest complaint is the packaging. I don’t have a garage and my tools stay mobile. I really wish they put out a more travel friendly case.
That's one of my favorite tools. Pressure sensitive switch adjusts the power to the bit. They don't make it anymore. I've tried to bug Milwaukee to make one.
All honesty, I'd just get the Pittsburgh so I can abuse them or go shopping around for another brand made in the same plant as a big name brand as cheap as possible unless I have a specific purpose in mind. 99% of the time the cheaper impacts work long enough to lose them. I will say you definitely want to buy good quality impact swivels, though.
Probably won’t. That’s one thing I find annoying. Haven’t warrantied any Icon in a long time, but they required the whole set, which I found irritating. That may have changed now, not sure.
They do offer individual sockets. The people at my local store didn’t know it though. I called customer service and got a replacement 9/16 socket mailed to me. Shipping was free but I did have to pay about $4 for the socket.
The sockets? No. I feel there’s better options for less. The extensions and universal joint? Depends on the price, but I’d most likely go with something like Tekton or Capri over Icon.

Sunex 3/8 set for SAE/metric that comes in deep and shallow-$90 Capri 3/8 metric in shallow, semi deep, and deep (8-22mm)-$120 Icon shallow metric-$45 Icon is DOUBLE the price of Sunex (same sizes, plus Sunex comes with universal joint and extension) and Capri (goes up to 22mm and includes semi deep). That’s just two good brands I check looked up in less than 5 minutes. Crazy what you can find out with a quick internet search instead of just repeating what you’re told.

I had a set of 3/8 Icon impacts. Wound up giving them away since they weren’t noticeably better than Taiwanese Williams or Sunex. Way less refined than my Snap-On impact sockets.
@@Nothingmore71 I’m saying I didn’t like them and they don’t offer enough sizes. They weren’t like BAD they just weren’t really anything special. They worked fine and were nicer than regular HF stuff. Idk if I had to pick between a truck brand and Icon I’d pick the truck brand. If I had to pick between Icon and either Pittsburgh or Craftsman I’d pick Icon.
icon are like the chinese tool truck tools, without the tool truck, with the tool truck prices. and don't lose your receipt, because they really aren't tool truck anything.
Their was a guy on my one page that bought pittsburg brand an one socket had gear wrench stamped on it so that tells you they are built by the same manufacturer
I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth, sunex are probably cheaper well I know they are especially if you have a good tool guy like I do. $200 for a complete set up to 22mm and 1 inch with universals, o and the mid lengths
