Oh yeah, the high days! I loved the lunch buffets, 250 baht or so. Japanese. Or when it was western, they had the cheeses, warm cut ham & mustard, pancakes,…
I was fortunate in being assigned to Bangkok in 1970 shortly after the opening of the Dusit Thani, thanks for your coverage, lots of fine memories and Happy Birthday!🎊
I love this video so much…thank you for it. I stayed at the Dusit Thani 20 years ago and loved it. One of my earliest trips to Bangkok! I will stay there again in the future!
I have been there 2 time in the 80s. Was a legend incredible hotel at that time. I hope to back there just to see the new one now in December. Great video
Greetings Global Travel Mate! Allow me to join the thousands who have already wished you a Happy Birthday 🎂🎁…. Wow, that really is an elegant hotel and the camera or phone you are using just enhances my viewing experience. Outstanding videography, keep up the great work and may your business continue to prosper in the Monarchy of Thailand 🇹🇭. I also can see why Thailand is one of the top countries to visit or retire. Great work Thailand!!!! Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your next episode.
Thanks Jeroen! Always good seeing you and Mirela. We’ve all been waiting for this one. A very Happy Birthday to you buddy!! I’m sure you had a wonderful celebration!
Nice review, never really understood why they had demolished the original Dusit Thani, but at least they preserved some parts of it, like the 'needle' on the top...
Still to be seen if the new modernized version of the old Dusit Thani will be as iconic. But man, they built the hotel fast and is already opened! Can't wait for the big Dusit Residences Tower to be completed! Another sub-supertall building!
Wow, what a position! The view really makes this place stand out with the parkland out front. The lightening storm was beautiful. I feel for the cleaners as they will have many windows to clean after checkouts! Can't wait till you show us the Condo's when you get a chance to rent one out! Thank you!
Very well made clip, we can see the wide angle of the surroundings by the drone, really professional and we can see the details inside the hotel room, very interesting and worth following.
First off Happy Birthday Jerom . WOW for the always phantastic content,.. WOW for the Drone shots and WOW for the great red Hair of your Girlfriend/Wife. 🖖
Finally you came here.I have seen some reviews already but I am waiting for Global travel mate. HBD Khun Jeroen. P.S.This is truely one of the best Hotel in BKK.
This hotel price above my budget but I will try to stay one of these nights 😅... But Agoda is very good rate compared to other online booking website 😊 just checked.
Ha ha, your comment brought a smile to my face... "The first thing I see, as a Dutchman, is the cheeses". And didn't they - and the rest of the hotel - look magnificent. Awesome review. I dream of the day I stay there for a couple of nights!
It looks absolutely beautiful. Prices do vary across platforms - Expedia AUD$2015 per night - Agoda AUD$694 per night. Might just be a bit out of my budget.
At first, Happy Birthday to you Jeroen. 🌷 For me nice to see the New Dusit Thani Hotel. In the past, sometimes we have Dinner and go Swimming in the Old Dusit Hotel. It was always Great. But now i see it is more Great this New Dusit Thani Hotel and have a Beautiful Swimming Pool. (the old swimming pool was not so nice) 🙏
I have a few memories and stories of the Dusit Thani when I stayed there for a month in 1974. Looking forward to re-acquainting myself with the new version in 2025. Might living very close to it.
It's a shame they demolished the old hotel because it had a lot of history, but they seem to have done a great job here. As you said..the location is fantastic.
May I say that 14K+ THB for that room and/or view is not worth it and i have a feeling they will have to reduce rack rates pretty soon, considering the abundance of similar hotels for much less. There's only so far a name can take you. Great video though. Was in BKK just recently and will be back soon.
@@DarkoFitCoach It just opened. Of course it will be sold out daily. Clearly, YOU don't know the market. I work in M&A and debt restructuring in the region and I am pretty sure I know what I'm talking about.
@@Val_kyriee so u agree it will be sold out BUT at same time say it will be a failure and they will have to reduce their room rates Reduce roomrates and sold out dont go together. So which is it?
