ICP Gas Furnace not heating ignition problem easy fix 

You are the man! I woke up this morning to a cold house. I found your video and followed it exactly, and now my house is heating and the family can relax knowing they will have a warm house today. Thank you so much.

The heat is ON! Thanks to your calm video, clear directions, and well filmed demonstration, I was able to remove the aluminum tube from the automatic ignition assembly to the igniter, blow air through it, reattach it at both ends and voila!!! The igniter worked. The furnace is on and heating up the house. Its been a cold few months but your video got me the calm and clarity to do the repair. Deepest thanks! Theresa

Thank you for this. This ended up being my issue. I had to use compressed electrical cleaner/alcohol spray to fully clean mine out since blowing would not completely clear it. This saved me a $130 visit for a technician to just tell me it's not worth fixing and to buy a completely new unit.

Man I didn't know about the switch on the board that you can jump out 24 to to test it. I was hoping you would have to do that so I can see how it worked. 👍

I know one thing sir when you and I retire from this I don't know who in the hell is going to be fixing people's heating and air conditioning systems these young kids today have no work ethic or desire to do heating and air

Everyone wants to know about that damaged wire. 😁 I just wanted to say that the cut sure looked very clean and the way the individual stranded conductors looked, it appeared to have been cut with pliers. Possibly sabotage to lower the ampacity of the wire and cause it to melt. Hopefully the homeowners understood the importance of repairing that, and let you fix it. Anyway, great video as usual. Keep 'em coming.

I see quite a few of those smart valves out there. Some of the older ones you have to shove a zip tie along side ignitor molex to keep connection. Plugged orifices definitely pretty common. There is a lot of LP around my area. Every bad smart valve I’ve seen with the diagnostic will give a solid green light indicating it’s bad. But you won’t find that in the manual or on the code list.

Ted, love your videos. I subscribe to your channel last year. We have a few things in common. I’ve been sober since 1989 and today my drink of choice is A&W root beer in a plastic bottle. I would like to see you do more repairs on Trane condenser units like leaks in the spine fin coils, changing out both the compressors in some of those older 18 and 19 Seer units, or diagnosing and start components. I’d also like to hear you explain the sequence of events on the two contactor set ups. Keep up the good work and thanks again

I have the same icp 80% furnace with a smart valve. It works but flame goes out and comes back after 1 minute. Gas valve flashes 4 times. It says open limit but i replaced my limit switch and roll out switches. Flame goes out but inducer and fan stay on. I guess it gets too hot and flame comes back on after it cools down. All vents are clear. What could cause this. Furnace was built in 2003

I've had good luck on hard to access pilots by blowing through the pilot tube with nitrogen or co2 while tapping on the pilot assembly to clean them out.

that might be diatomaceous earth, powder to control roaches and bugs

My guess is that the obstruction was in the valve orifice and it cleared after you removed the pilot pipe.

What i find easy when threading go backward first till you fill it skip then turn clockwise most the time you'll be dead on balls.

Wondering if customer's invoice reflected the cleaning of the burner gas orifice with special low pressure enhanced NO, O2, and CO2 delivery system.

What was the model of that furnace so I can avoid buying it.

Why didnt you put electrical tape on the bare wire.

Can you/someone please help, My Heater is the same as this, it is in my Attic, the Green light flashes(Constant) the glow plug lights, Fan spins, then after about 10 seconds, it resets. Does the same thing again, then shuts down. So the glow plug is lighting but nothing comes out of the orpheus to heat my trunk. Any suggestions???

The old smartvalve always a nuisance that's why I love the INTERGRADED FURNACE CONTROL.

3.5 inches water column is this beer mug 2/3 full. The average person can blow 36 inches water column. So maybe that was enough to clear it out.

What would of clogged it? You say it happens often with the switch over to propane?
