How to make Experimental Airlines style control horns from ID card plastic. I have found these to be superior to most control horns provided on foam planes. They are quick and easy to make and tough. I have never had one come loose or break.

Great idea, I do a similar thing with chopped up popsicle sticks! When its summer time I make sure to collect them when the kids are done!

That's actually true, they come up with the stick and go Here daddy for your plane! My oldest is just 5 and now starting to fly (crash) so its a good way to learn some physics from early on...

made my first set tonight based on your instruction. mounted them in what will be a symmetrical airfoil noob tube and the alignment over the hinge point was perfect. not bad for a few pennies. thank you Andrew for all your videos. looking for a place to try some slope soaring and cannot wait to try cutting foam cores. cheers

Great horn idea Andrew, lots of gluing area, and so cheap too....Gonna get me some of those Gift Cards.....:) I have another Depron build to do at some point...

Andrew Newton Yeah, they look easy to work with, and you can bend them too...:) I also want to glue them to receivers etc so I can screw them in place...

I was wondering if you ever get any flex in the gift cards, or would you even be able to tell? Maybe a cam shot would be able to see if they do. I thought about laminating 2 of them together with some Gorilla glue or such and pressing them in a vise or clamp. Would be a good idea for other things, I bet you could get some real strength out of them that way.

+3000gtwelder I have never seen any flex while flying but occasionally the push rod had poke further through the hole after a crash, but it never breaks.

I was thinking, you could also use old CD's that you don't like maybe in different configurations.
