Join us on our atv adventure! We're riding to Silver City, Idaho. We rode about 60 miles total and hit some pretty tough, technical areas that pushed us to the limits of our capabilities. It was an adventure to remember!
Wow, beautiful area to ride in. Great video, I like how you stitched in the voiceovers giving a little more information on the area you're riding in. Cheers from Manitoba Canada.
I've never understood why people spend thousands jacking up a truck or jeep. While ATVs aren't as cheap today as when I bought my 1st 1 there still a better option in my opinion. Cuz my factory pick up gets 12 to 14 miles per gallon in town and 21 to 23 when the quad is loaded up an rolling down the highway. When there getting 4 in town and 7 or 8 if there lucky on the highway. Both can take you to amazing places so why pay a fortune to go to the grocery store.
I just discovered your channel and watched my first vidoe of yours. Great job. Enjoyed it very much. That trail you were on was amazing, it had a little bit of everything. Looking forward to catching up on the videos and following your adventure. Thanks for sharing.
when you mentioned the camp trailer I remembered seeing your vids awhile back I've since gotten into Dirt biking but still own my Can am enjoyed this one for sure.
Nice video. Cool thing is the varied terrain. Just bought a new to me A.C 700 an now a gopro. Gotta give this a go, if for no other reason then a good time. Awesome job..
This was a nice video to come across. A year and a half ago I had to leave Colorado, my Yamaha grizzly 700 and move to Northern California. Kind of made me feel like I was out riding on a Sunday afternoon. Thank you I truly miss being able to do that.
man what a great ride thanks for taping it. i have ridden to silver city hundreds of time but never taken that route. i have ridden on the trail at the end when you came in from the backside but it was in summer. and yes there are some butt tightener's out there. would love to tag along sometime haven't done any serious riding for a couple years. but my wife could not take this trail lol
Excellent video! Your ride epitomizes that exact reason my wife and I bought our first ever ATV a week ago! A CF Moto 800 XC. We're from N.C. but have a little property in New Mexico. We want to do just the kind of trail riding and exploration that you enjoyed here. Not into mud slinging and racing and that kind of jazz. And I think it's great that you're not some kind of "expert", "avid" rider. It let's people know that they can enjoy their hobby just the way THEY like to. Good job! Cheers!
@@RyansOutdoorLife just found your channel, subscribed! I really like this type of atv riding as well. How has that 500 c force held up for your brother? The 800 and 1000 are too large for us. The 500 looks just right
@@thatoneguy2756 The 500 is great! It was actually mine before I upgraded to the 1000. I put about 1400 (pretty hard) miles on it (2017 through 2021) and didn't have any issues. I definitely recommend it! And if you're buying new, I'd highly recommend the 2022 model, they've updated and upgraded quite a few things on it.
@@RyansOutdoorLife the new 500 hasn't been delivered anywhere yet. They just added it to the website. I kinda like the 600 but the 500 seems more reliable from what I keep seeing. I have found several of the 21 model 500s though.
You guys ride about twice as fast as we do. Course I'm older than you guys but I've never been into the fast riding. You see more when you slow down and it'll make your atv last longer going slower. Sure, you won't cover as many miles but you;ll enjoy the scenery more. This area looks similar to areas we ride in in Montana.
AWESOME country! I just love those hills and the high desert vegetation. So beautiful! 4:15 - I use a Garmin and a phone app also. The Garmin is almost indestructible, but hard to read & cumbersome to operate, so I started using BackCountry Navigator on an old Android phone. It's a GREAT app and so easy to use! 6:36 - A 2" lift will be good for clearance, but not good for stability. For the type of riding you do (same as what I do), I'd just buy a better skid plate and stay low to avoid rolling over on the tippy spots - lol 18:30 - NICE!!! I love finding old places like that. Imagine who all has been in there? The snowy trail through the trees after the old cabin was mint buddy!! Well . . . until you hit that sketchy rock part - lol That 360 cam is killer! Nice touch! Excellent job on the editing. I'm not a fan of music in ATV videos, but that's just a personal preference and you do a nice job of keeping it in the background. Not sure why I haven't come across your channel until now. I do a search on ATV videos quite often. Anyway, glad I found it. Keep'em comin'!
I love it. Ryan states. It’s beautiful up here. And in the next breath. It sucks up here. I love the way Ben shakes his head in the background. The camera work was really nice. It made me feel like you were the only one in the whole world riding around the globe…very cool. It’s satisfying to me to know there’s guys all around the globe. With the same appetite. We may do things a bit different. But at the end of the day that bucket list of things to do. Was granted! 🤙
Looks like a killer ride, very scenic. Looks like a nice mix of high speed and technical too, thanks for awesome video. You mentioned a 2" lift in the future, is it necessary to buy longer axles? Cautious riding keeps you from breaking parts and getting stranded too, probably sucks to have to leave a machine out in the weeds with a break down. Looks like a nice area to camp if permitted? Standing while riding lets you see further up the trail too.
@@RyansOutdoorLife i got a 2 in lift stock axls n they are angled quite a bit, seemed ok, but just yesterday i saw grease on my rim, cv boot was looses, unsure if joint is bad, thought maybe frm the angle....?
Just bought the Overland. Great machine so far. Went on a 64 mile run today. Very comfortable. Plenty of power for what I’m using it for. Nice video! Where did you find that cross bar? Be nice to have extra space for accessories.
I really hope your CFMoto continues to work for you. The reason I say that is because I went to a dealer 2 weeks ago with a set of calipers to do a bit of a build quality comparison between CFMoto, Polaris, Can-Am, and Honda. The first thing I measured was the size of the A-arm tube stock on a CF600 and compared it to the Can-Am 450 right next to it... The A-arm on the CF was at least 40% smaller than the Can-Am 450. Then I measured the frame on the CF600... then the Can-Am 450 right next to it... then the sportsman 570 a couple down from than. That's when I stopped measuring stuff and told myself I was never going to by anything from CFMoto. There's a reason they cost less. Don't believe me? Grab a set of calipers and head to a dealership!
Well, based on my real world experience, they are absolute beasts. I put 1400 super tough miles on my CFmoto 500 (rolled it at least 5 separate times) and didn’t have one single issue with it. From my and others experience on all the groups I’m part of, they don’t seem any more prone to problems than any other brands and still cost significantly less. My experience after owning three cfmotos for 4+ years. And a total of more than 3000 miles between all of them.
Do more of these vlogs there interesting we don't have country side Like you have it over there amazing Do you ever do a quad camping trip With a group of ya barbecue & dat
@@RyansOutdoorLife once you hit the ridge line head south and it will put you back near that really nice vista view you hit with the big rock outcrops. The video was cool that tail you took off war eagle into silver city is the only one I have yet to take, Been on all the others. Now I need to get back out that way this summer
You cracked me up with your riding & what you were saying. I’ve been riding for over 40 yrs & I guess pretty good , soo it’s hard to realize a beginner. Fun ride & cool trails & scenery for sure . No bagging on yah just funny !!
Great video, but you both had what u called “tippy” events. Please review you suspension settings and owners manuals. Both ATVs are set way to stiff. Ben’s driver front tire didn’t stuff into the finder as it should have to keep level. The lack of suspension travel creates tipping. It’s like driving a brick.
how did the gas can work out mounted on top of the center storage of your 1000? I have one too and I'm trying to figure out a good place for a spare tank.
It’s fine but I don’t love it. It’s plenty strong but inconvenient for opening the box. I bought a bracket that mounts under the rear rack and will hold the can vertically behind the storage boxes. Not sure how difficult that will make it to open the box though. I haven’t mounted it yet.
sweet ride! def goin there ( if i can find a riding buddy) im far lol ur on a cfm? i was gonna get the garmin how is it for atv-ing? is onx good? which sub did u buy? hows it compared to lifetime maps? what mirrors r those, look nice and tough.
Great video.. Been following your stuff now for the past 4 months.. Cool videos… I just bought a Cforce 1000.. Quick question?? What setup do you use for your gas can on your storage box?? Also what kind of helmet and goggles do you have? Thank
The mirrors were from a local dealership. I think the brand is Moose or something like that. The bar is from Amazon. Search for motorcycle balance bar.
Great video thanks. Can’t believe all the negative comments, perhaps they should buy a machine, buy a quality camera and put in the time to produce what they consider a better video. Never been to Idaho but it looks fantastic. Is that the Polaris ride command on your phone?
Have to ask …since I bought one ….How’s the Overland holding up? Any issues I should know about? So far, I have 130 miles …. BTW …I’m skittish about getting tippy. I’ve had one on top of me …suffered broken ribs etc.,…not good for on an old 66 year old dude. Enjoy your atv vids. (No obnoxious music …)
That new CFMoto is a really blatant Outlander rip off. I just cant trust any product thats over 50% cheaper than anything comparable on the market. Other than that, great video. Ill have to check this trail out and make a trip of it. I also dont think you need to use the low range and 4x4 as much as you do, not that it really matters. But sometimes you forget to take it out and it can be hard on the machine.
I’m from the area this video was made. I’ve been on all the trails shown here. It is a super fun ride but everyone needs to understand, stay out when it’s muddy. It is clay soil out in the Owyhee mountains and it ruins the trails when people ride when it is muddy. There are ares out there where people have gone off trail and ruined the area because they went to early in the season trying to avoid snow drifts , or after rain storms. If that continues the BLM is going to start closing trails because people are being irresponsible. Please respect the land and trails and don’t ride at inappropriate time and ruin it for everyone else! Side note: I’ll let it slide that these guys are riding on Can-AMs. Polaris or nothing! LOL
@@RyansOutdoorLife but your video is super awesome absolutely awesome I really enjoy it I watched twice and I share it to my two friends who rides with me in Utah. The music is only annoying at the beginning of the video than you put better more enjoyable music that we can hear the engines and talking and so relax music that goes with the beautiful Ecenary
@@RyansOutdoorLife most people that we watch this videos we are kind of old and like to relax enjoying the scenery and the conversation the mellow music is awesome to joy the video . There is lots of videos of RU-vidrs about side x sides and motorcycles cars many things and think that haven’t the loudest annoying music like we all are 17 . I just skipped or mute the video. Your videos are absolutely awesome
I subscribed to your channel because I love off roading and Idaho, but you’re on probation. The camera work is passable but you need to quit being such sissies. If you don’t man up I’ll have to insist that you shave off the beards.🤷🏻♂️
