I live in China. A few of my colleagues, who also aren’t American, are hooked on this case. I think they’ll have to move it to the moon to find a jury that aren’t aware of at least the basics.
I live in Michigan The jurors that they will be needing will not have any bias Knowing about the case, does not necessarily give you a bias They would have to have an open mind and trust our judicial system, innocent until proven guilty I think I would be a great juror. I have followed the case from the beginning, followed the podcasts and unfollowed the podcasts The only thing I really stay away from is Mainstream media producing TV specials or Netflix or Paramount Mainstream media, I think it’s very biased, and they conclude without evidence very dangerous

Hire more lawyers to review Discovery. Just like the Johnny Depp case. She is just stalling. Also look at other high profile cases like Casey Anthony. June 2008 she is arrested, trial starts May 2011.
Scott Petersons trial started just 14 months after his arrest and it was a 5 month long trial. This trial is only estimated to last 6-8 weeks. It should not take 2.5 years from the time of arrest for this trial to start.
I think Bryans team is just desperate cause they are buying time with moving the case appeal. Doesnt matter where they have the case people know about it. You are right.
While I get the frustration the average murder trial takes 2-3yrs to take place. & This is a quadruple homicide DP case & unfortunately the wheels of Justice move slow. My heart goes out to the families. I can’t even fathom their frustration.
this happens to everyone not just these, some have to wait 10 years for justice, they should be grateful, that they get the chance coz not everyone does
Yes, that is really terrible for the families. It is the same in Germany. Here you may only be "under investigation" for two years. When the judges don't meke it in this time, they have to let these people out of jail or find another reason to keep them in, which is not easy.
More terrible if your innocent ...yet crucified by public who haven't even heard the facts yet. So far, no facts have been released to convince me he did it.
Darlie Routier DP case went to trial In 6 months and the defense team changed so they had less than 9 weeks to prepare for it. Also no credible evidence against her other than she didn't die. Oh and her and her family and local children celebrated her son's birthday at his gravesite after a memorial service. You are right though the wheels of justice turn slowly she has been on death row for 27 years for a crime she didn't commit.

She doesn’t know what his alibi is going to be yet. She has to see the evidence first so she can try to fabricate a story to try and make it fit the evidence.

An Alibi is an Alibi, it doesn’t change depending on discovery turned over. There is no reason to have cell records in order to show an alibi. For the defense they want to see the states hand and that’s not how you play poker. When an alibi consistently changes it’s because he has no alibi.
I've found it somewhat amusing. The pca itself specifically declares that he drives around at night aimlessly. In fact according to the pca at least on twelve occasions!!!!!!!!!! When the pca comes out they say he was driving around half the world goes nuts nonsense!

I think the police , the courts, the prosecution have to keep in mind the unnessarcy trauma that is created.The judge has also a duty of care to the continual stress on the family's ( living victims), so I don't think he will allow the Defense continue to drag it out.

The D-team has admitted to receiving over 95% of Discovery. Evidence trickles in up until and during trials- digital, phone, Labs,… The longer it takes to get to trial, the D-team gambles that more crucial evidence doesn’t get found.

51TB of data worth of evedance!!! That's why. They have not even recieved it all yet! You know how much information that is???? The state has been working this case and collecting the data for a lot longer than the def has even started getting a fraction of that data.
If it was my case I would want it moved too. I'm not as concerned with getting a fair jury than I an with the quality of the jury pool itself. How many college kids will end up in the jury pool? I'm a parent of an 18 year old college freshman and no way would i trust him and 11 of his friends to decide my fate? That's a hard no.
It’s a fair point though. Americans are VERY territorial I have noticed. And people from small towns in general are VERY territorial. This will be taken PERSONALLY by the folks in Idaho and EXTRA personal by those in Latah County.
@Tori345 I'm well aware of that. And of course there wouldn't be 12 college kids on the jury. Alot of them wouldn't get a summons because their drivers licenses and voting registrations are still in their home state anyways. There are plenty of other people who live there, but that wasn't my point.
Moscow residents are more likely familiar with the crime scene location and area, and better able to see nuances and discrepancies in the testimony than are jurors who know only that the crime occurred in a student house in another town. The video dealt with that somewhat at 40:00 but not enough. On the other hand, jurors from Moscow might fear social repercussions from other residents should they acquit.
His family makes me sick. U see the sister? How would his mom like it if that was his 3 daughters. Ur son has said he didn't do it so why hide? If that was my son he told me that I'd come forward and say my son didn't do it. U think hes going to tell u he did this?. I do not feel sorry for his family one bit. His sisters a psychologist and she didn't see he was crazy?.

I like to drive around late at night or in the early mornings, isn’t much of an alibi. Doesn’t help BK one bit, esp. when he drove back to the scene of the crime for a looksee. Apt.> to Kings Rd., drives to the back of house on Walenta Dr., stays about 10-mins, doesn’t get out of his car, then heads back home. He thought he’d blend in, but he was the only one.

The point is it’s PERSONAL in Latah County. Say you committed a crime in Russia. Which country do you think you’d get a fairer trial in… Russia or another country? Idahoans are territorial folk. To be honest I think you’d need it in a different state to avoid bias. How can this bloke get a fair trial at all when you read these comments. Probably shouldn’t bother with juries at all as I can count on one hand the number of folk in this chat that are capable of suspending their opinion until they’ve heard all the evidence. HeyJB yeah about how some people haven’t heard of high profile cases- yeah my parents often haven’t heard of stories I follow because there is so much bad news out there they kinda tune out on sad stories like this. They follow other news that interests them. I’m sure there are a lot of people like that.

Agreed, many people do not follow the news or horrific true crime. Send out the questionnaires, then if the Judge sees it is prudent, change venue. To change venue now, this far in advance, will start another media frenzy in another County. I think to be "fair" it should be moved out of Latah County, but i also think it would have to be moved a jolly long way to find a completely impartial jury! Surely everyone in the US has heard of this case. Blimey, even a lot of people i know have heard of it, and I live in England!! So good luck there...
It doesn't matter where it is. If I were on that jury I would never want to send an innocent person to prison. And those are the type of people they need to find for the jury, impartial. It may take time, but they need to be extremely selective of the jury.

If they move it to a different county, will Judge John Judge still be the Judge? Latah county is the most Democrat county in Idaho. If they move it to a more conservative county then Kohberger is probably more likely to get the death penalty.
Ann Taylor need to concentrate on the important things not be chasing all these red herrings in the case. No wonder she won’t be done. At that rate she will never be done if she investigates every piece of paperwork. And b*%ching and moaning about discovery is ridiculous. The trail needs to stay in Moscow because it the students will be on break as well. I don’t think the students would be happy if they moved the trial, the students probably want justice. Needs to get done it s 4 people under a certain age.
The public defender has seemed from the beginning that she is a bully, she tries to control the court/judge on every topic; when trial should be held, where it should be held. She’s holding the court captive with threats, do this or we will do all this again.
In my opinion “this man looks like the Grim Reaper from what I can see of the evidence. He’s for sure, guilty until we have further evidence. I won’t believe anything, but that. More than likely time will help the defense that’s what they’re hoping for in cases like this normally they hope witnesses disappear, and evidence falls to the wayside and disappears on the other hand. If the prosecutors get more evidence, it could be bad for Mr. Goldberger. For instance, they find the murder weapon that would be awesome, that would for sure sign that letter to send him directly to prison for life it’s not going to do any good to move this trial out of that state or out of that county this case is known worldwide. It’s just not going to help him any.
BUT the whole world isn't Biased, and Latah County, the Judge, the MPD, ISP are! It's a great disservice of the Justice system to refuse him that right.

Its pretty clear based on the PCA how they came across BK. WSU police came across his Elantra on Nov. 29. Also the prosecution isn't even using the IGG evidence at trial and they didn't use it to get any warrants either.

What's your answer to why the state is so clearly unable to hand over the exact same Dec 29th materials that they showed to the judge that day (or time prior)??? We know those materials contained identification connection information because a judge is not legally allowed to approve the warrants (or usurp P.H) without that element intact. So WHY WHY WHY is the state "suddenly unable" to hand over those very same materials?? The state has not handed over a single piece of evidence that actually identifies BK as the suspect. Seems Anne Taylor is gaining some time on this…wonder what laws might change in favor to BK ? She’s right it’s a lot of info and a lot to process to defend her client however I believe the victims families need some closure on this too as soon as possible. I also believe this case will be held end of 2024 and early 2025 I don’t think judge wants to wait til summer 2025
