Update: I found following settings to be better than what's in the video after couple of months.
Brightness on 75 Contrast 70, Sharpness 60, R-50, G-44, B-52 and Mode 1
Optimize Samsung Odyssey G5 monitor colors.
I see most of the users complaining about washed out colors of their Samsung Odyssey G5 monitors. I recently bought a 27"-inch Samsung Odyssey G5 monitor, and I had the same problem.
I tried tweaking with the monitor settings and found these settings which gave me pretty good results. Turn off the HDR mode in windows and try adjusting following settings.
Black Equalizer - 18, FreeSync - On
Hope this helps and let me know if this worked out for you.

Hi, I don't get any flickering. But I do get ghosting on fast games like NFS. It only happens while I am going very fast. Yesterday I discovered one dead pixel. I am not sure if it was there before. I was very happy with the monitor till I saw that dead pixel. Edit: Looked back at few pictures which I took after purchasing the monitor and the dead pixel was there from the beginning.

Sorry, I have no idea. I don't own a Xbox. I bought mine for my PC and I replaced the HDMI cable with a DP cable.

Such a great monitor. I had issues with overshoot and ghosting on my Asus TUF F15 2023 (RTX 4060, i7 12700H, 32GB RAM), but with this monitor, everything works perfectly! The quality is excellent. By the way, I don't use the FreeSync offered by the monitor; I have it disabled. What I do use is the G-Sync compatible with the Asus. I highly recommend it

That's actually the key to volume control. Try pressing it, not up/down/left/right. Just push it while keeping it in middle.

Hi, it is compatible with g-sync too. Turn on g-sync from Nvidia control panel and there is another setting there called "enable settings for the selected display model". Enable that too. I have the 3070ti as well.

Yes, I have Nvidia Control Panel. It's on default settings. However, I have changed the output color depth to 10bpc on change resolution option right above the adjust desktop color settings. To do that you have to change the refresh rate to 120Hz first. It's in the same tab. But I don't think it has much impact though. That's why I haven't mentioned it in the video.

Hi, I am using the monitor with my PC. So not sure what's going on there. But if it goes gray, might have something to do with HDR mode in the game. For me, it always goes gray when the HDR mode is on.

Hi, I have this monitor with gaming PC. However the image is very bad. I've tried the settings you recommend but it doesn't help. The resolution is set to 1440p and I have it with HDMI 2.0 connected to PC. The textures look very grainy no matter what I do. I've tried out many HDMI cables but nothing helped. Games like GTA 5 look absolutely horrible, even if my resolution is correct. I don't know what else to do.

If your image looks blurry its probably because of sharpness, any value over 70 will look like film grain is always on. In my case I find 60 to be the perfect spot (maybe 56 if the game already has a sharpness effect on) but you try it for yourself and see what works best to you. Keep in mind that if you go to low instead of looking grainy it will look very blurry, so again try to find your sweet spot

Hi, the current configuration of mine is Brightness on 60, Contrast 70, Sharpness 60, R-50, G-44, B-52 and Mode 1. Yes, definitely better when the HDR is turned off in windows. I accidentally turned on HDR on Battlefield V and the colors went to washed out mode. So, I am guessing this monitor is better when we are not using HDR.

I am not sure, but it might have to do something with the port you are using. I am using a DP cable and it's locked for me too.

if yall want a more all around, works better at night but not to well in full bright but its good try this (black eq: 16 ) (Brightness 50 | contrast 96 | sharpness 64 ) ( color custom, r 21 | g 23 | b 55) (the color settings is subjective i like dark with color pop with a brightness that's not disturbing) and game settings is also subjective unless you use a black equalizer, and most of the settings are to match two different monitors so they can be the same consistent color representation

For me, some settings wont go beyond 50 or 10. Those are the limits. Sharpness is 20, Black Equilazer iz 10. Why?

i have had the same problem, my picture became too white/gray/light ish when i turned it on, couldnt get it to go away, i see why people say hdr 400 is not good, 600 should be a bit better, but alot of people say only hdr 1000 is worth it, it seems like a gimmic they just add for the hell of saying it got hdr, dont use it, picture is better, i prefer running in cinema mode and with the settings in the video, gives some more pleasant tones

It is probably different on each monitor, you will surely find videos from your monitor. I recommend you put the configurations that you like the most.

Well, in Windows 11 I can select 2560 x 1440 as the resolution and it's the recommended resolution for me.

I don't have any experience on G3. Even though the outer appearance is similar, the display might be different from the G5. But there's no harm on trying these setting and see.

Open your Windows settings, find Display, and you'll find an option that shows every supported Resolution, your Nvidia or AMD control panels also have further customisation such as going up to 144Hz.

This monitor doesn't have speakers on it. It's just a 3.5mm output for the headphones.

There is no screen sound. You can plug in your headset though. There's a 3.5mm jack beside the DP ports in the back panel.

The right side of my screen is faded black but still visible. So I got all my mf settings cranked up for MAX brightness 😭😭 until Samsung comes n fixes my stuff. Everything is update and everything is fine it’s just the monitor LOL.

Well, I use it with above settings. I see a little bit of ghosting in racing games. Other than that, I can play games with 100 FPS and above.

@@1nichita594 Sorry, I cannot help you there much. I posted the video to tell you about getting rid of washed-out colors. I think you'll have to adjust graphic settings in the game to suite with your GPU.

@@1nichita594 Yes, only thing that will affect for gaming from above options is the FreeSync. From what I've seen, you can get better response times if you deactivate the FreeSync and set the response time to the fastest.

its because its a ips panel, i went from va to ips, and feel like i had light "spots" in the corners, my minimap in leauge of legends was almost faded in light, apparently thats IPS for ya, va have better darkness and dont have the problem

Well, my room gets a lot of daylight. I could use it on 60, but cannot lower it more. I read somewhere that if you set the response time to fastest and then turned on the FreeSync, it will stay on the fastest response setting.

@@nightowl4567 Unfortunately not. Please run the Ufo Ghosting test and when you turn on freesync it goes back to the slowest.The freesync option blocks response time on the slowest standard profile.

@@Adi2071 Well I checked it. If you have set a lower refresh rate from the GPU control panel, it will get lowered to that value. Else I didn't see any difference there.

@@nightowl4567 It does not matter if we set 60Hz, 120Hz or 165Hz. After enabling AMD FreeSync, the response time power is automatically locked at the lowest level. Only when this option is turned off, response time is unlocked and we have four options to choose from. Standard, fast, fastest and fastest (MBR).
