this was great although it seems kinda a bit rushed. the op amp takes in a negative power rail which allows it to output negative volts. mind you all i have to do is slow the video down.

Aren't the inputs of the op-amp mislabelled? If V+ = V- then this should be a Negative Feedback configuration.

Hey sorry this might be outside of my area of expertise here, I've never seen Op Amp scenarios where V+ != V-, in fact, I thought was a primary driver for their configuration. Regardless of labelling, if we are assuming V+ == V-, the labels could go either way. Have you got an example I could look at to learn more?

Then what is the purpose of R3??

surya bhusal that's a pulldown resistor. For a minute imagine that you didn't have it, the voltage at V+ would be 0 because it would be directly connected to ground.
