Shawn explains common names for different parts of your boat that lookouts should use to report boats operating around you. The term "accident chain" refers to a series of events that are linked together like a chain. If any one of the links is broken, the accident will not happen. Teaching your family how to report a contact/boat to the operator will break that accident chain every time. Have fun learning and using these terms.
