I'm fairly sure I have dyscalculia, and I always struggled with maths in school... the answer to which was apparently to get given more maths homework. One of the first things I did when I got hold of the internet in the early '00s was try to find out why my brain doesn't do maths. 😅 I generally use my fingers to count but as long as we are talking small numbers I can just about do addition in my head. Other operations are basically impossible in my head, and I never even managed to learn all my multiplication tables. Getting diagnosed isn't really possible for most people in the UK from what I've read while looking into it, but at this point I have workarounds for stuff. On a side note, when teachers used to say "you won't always have a calculator on you" I took this as a challenge and always carried a pocket calculator since the early '90s when I was still at primary school. 😂

@beeurd It sounds like you've navigated challenges with math in a resourceful way. Despite struggling with dyscalculia and facing limited options for diagnosis in the UK, you've developed effective workarounds. Carrying a pocket calculator since primary school shows your determination to overcome obstacles. Your experience highlights the importance of finding personalised solutions and adapting to meet your needs.
