I really enjoy playing thief but I was never sure how to use the flashlight effectively so I always felt like it was wasted. I really appreciate this guide since now I feel like I can actually play Thief much better now, and also counter a lot of the hunters that made me want to die inside (namely BQ thanks to your other video, but Geisha and Soul Weaver are also really annoying for me to deal with). Really great tips!
I'm having so much fun with him in rank, some matches i end up being called toxic for using him XD, is so easy to kite every hunter except for Wu Chang white form :(
Joseph mains!!, if the flashlight hasn't taken away your skills yet, use Timeskip/footsteps as you chase. You can still put yourself at an angle while walking a certain direction to counter Thief! So basically its like using teleport to 360 but you can choose an angle.

The auto-calibration on Gamekeeper's hook is wild, if he one-taps you you could move sideways during the delay (like REALLY sideways otherwise he will still hit you). If there's a rocket chair nearby you could also go near it, sometimes as a Gamekeeper I get this thing where my hook latches on the chair instead of the survivor (this may or may not have been fixed in recent updates, idk tho). Make sure to tight kite him and only transition if you know he's out of hooks.
Thief is always been strong but most players I've encountered or see on some fb page of idv I don't usually see thief on getting noticed like most of them focus on like prospector or someone cute like ship here ship them it's really cringe but there's the point they don't like thief cause it's really hard for most of them to master the map with moonwalk
The thing with dream witch tho is that the copies have separate trait cooldowns. So after the 1st blink hit you would get hit by another one if they catch on
Good video but there's one "little" problem. Thief isn't that hard to counter,most of NA server players just doesn't know how to do it and those who know this way doesn't do it properly. I mean there's no need to backwards or 360 with tp, umbrella, tentacle,etc. You can just 90-120° so you can still see thief and unable to be affected by the flashlight
Ev1l Ent1ty there’s ways around it, think about this,if they look back they can’t use their abilities hence I would open kite to areas near pallets and transition like that

This trick is already mentioned in Persway video. Like a Geisha will press the teleport button (but not tele away) to counter Thief's flashlight. Thanks a lottt
Is the flashlight of thief would be long enough to use in the entire game? Or do u still need to open a chest and get another item to use like some of the survivors?
so i never bought any characters so i always try doc and thief, and i exactly love open routes when being chased , and i believe thief should be A tier if his flash light doesnt run out
I'm a solo Thief in the A-20 atm and wow I'm getting bad luck with my randoms lately, they go down 5 seconds into a kite and always ending up getting a draw or a loss nowadays. :(
