I kept rewinding the drum intro!! It’s so captivating.. Patitucci steals the show most days of the week, but that Nate got a percussive Time Machine goin’ ON!!
Just a follow up comment! What an awesome band, every part.. been listening to Pattitucci since the early days he played w Chick.. now enjoying what I’m hearing from this band a lot👍
Thank you for posting your recent live performances! Love this band! Adam and Steve comp for each other's solos so sensitively and tastefully. Love the way bass and drums maintain an optimal "stank factor" in the groove. Love and best wishes to all of you and your families!🙏🏽💖🤗
Mr. Patitucci, since I first heard you with Chick when I was young, you have been a leading inspiration for me both in music and how to conduct oneself as an artist, thank you!
Really disappointed I wasn’t able to make it to the live show but thanks for posting this recording so everyone could get a taste!! Sounds great as always
Lovely, I was also in a band that did obscure versions of Iron Maiden classics but we were more funk than jazz. What I hear here is fabulous. Good luck.
So very good! I'm a JP fan. I love his feel and tone. Like no other. An original voice and one of the greatest. The guy is the consummate musician, whether on electric or upright. His voice sings through.
What a treat. Been a fan of John's since I saw him with Freddie Hubbard many moons ago, then of course with Chick. The rest of the band is new to me, and I love the novel concept. Great balance and complimentary playing overall. I'm guessing many who are particularly fascinated by the bass and drums are new to jazz. I hope you delve deeper to discover the artistry and nuance that guys like Steve and Adam bring to the group.
Cardenas is new to me, as is his blurry time feel soloing. I'll need to hear him more to get it. I wondered if maybe Rogers thought the same thing a couple times where he was laying out (that admittedly is a stretch).
Steve Cardenas is one of those unsung guitar heroes. His discography as a leader isn't that extensive though even though he's been at it since the 70's.
